NBC10.com seeks an online news editor to write local stories, blogs, podcasts(from TV scripts, wire copy and interviews) and produce multimedia for NBC 10 (WCAU), located in the TV newsroom in, Bala Cynwyd, near Philadelphia.
This person will work with the Web site’s managing editor and senior news editor, in close communication with the NBC 10 newsroom. The environment is fast-paced and deadlines are constant. Multi-tasking skills are essential. Applicants should be energetic, ambitious and eager to learn.
Candidates must have at least a four-year college degree (preferably in communications, journalism or English) and at least two years experience writing or reporting for print, broadcast and/or the Web. Familiarity with AP style is required; an editing test is part of the selection process. The job requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy.
Candidates should be extremely comfortable with computers (PC), and have experience with word processing software, e-mail software, and the Internet. Familiarity with HTML, digital photo processing and video editing is highly desirable.
