Intel says ‘we’re content delivery competitors’

Interesting thought from Intel VP and GM Donald McDonald of the Digital Home Group. McDonald was talking about how home media centers will keep moving in as an alternative means of entertainment. “Are we your competitors?” he asked a room of traditional cable system operators. “Absolutely,” was his candid reply. And he’s right. The cable hasn’t been the only pipe into the home for some time. Now with more powerful processors, the PC doesn’t even have to look like a PC anymore and an Intel-based home media center can out-cable cable.
