Fox O&Os beef up news, web
Cory Bergman July 23rd, 2006
Not only are Fox’s owned-and-operated stations starting a 9 a.m. morning show, many of the larger-market affiliates are launching newscasts at 5 p.m.. And as we’ve reported, they’re launching vastly-improved websites under the “MyFox” brand. Fox’s Dennis Swanson, who to his credit has pushed for expansion on the web, has this curious quote: “That’s where people 30 and under are going for information.” Um, it’s where everyone is going for information.

I haven’t seen Dennis in probably 12 years, but that quote is very, very him… you’re never really sure if he gets it or if he doesn’t.

wouldn’t it be better for many of you in the industry if some of these folks in charge DON’T “get it”???
for if they did, many would be out of work.

But, Mr. thecitynamechannel, this isn’t so much a “hey this guy thinks outside the TV box so he’s cool” kinda way so much as it’s a “are we going to find him wandering the streets in a bathrobe?”
Your ‘outsiders’ rant’ can apply to a lot of things, but doesn’t quite capture the essence of Mr. Swanson.
