Warner Bros. TV hits digital hurdles
Cory Bergman July 23rd, 2006
The TV studio is trying to come to an agreement with the networks to allow it to debut shows such as Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip on its own digital platforms. But TV Week reports that at least four of the nets are opposed to the idea, which means Warner Bros.’ shows may not be available for sale on the web. “NBC wants Studio 60 on digital platforms to be NBC-branded because viewers think of ‘Studio 60′ as an NBC show and will look for it on an NBC-branded platform, not a Warner Bros. platform,” said Mark Graboff, NBCU TV’s West Coast president.

[...] Beginning today you can find Friends, Aquaman, Babylon 5, The Flintstones, MadTV and the Jetsons (cool!) available for sale on iTunes. You’ll notice there are no current hits on the list, thanks to the difficult ongoing discussions underway between Warner Bros. and the networks. [...]

This really looks like a good show, but the fact of the matter is, if it isn’t on iTunes, I probably won’t be seeing. It’s just so easy to go download the show when you have time to watch it, rather than shifting around your schedule to watch it on TV… Please NBC/WB please agree to bring this show to iTunes.
