Media Asset Coordinator

for Newseum Productions

The Newseum, a highly interactive museum of news under construction on Pennsylvania Avenue in Downtown D.C., offers an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a technologically advanced operation. Located between the U.S. Capitol and the White House and near Smithsonian museums on the National Mall, the Newseum will feature two HD television studios, 15 theaters and 12 galleries.
Newseum Productions has an opening for a Media Asset Coordinator to help maintain a complex, state-of-the-art digital asset-management system, manage an existing tape library and provide support for the production staff. The Newseum will be a fully digital facility, with little use of tape.
This position requires 3-5 years’ experience in video post-production and simple database management. Some experience in video editing is a plus. Familiarity with file-management systems and working knowledge of digital file formats are required. Experience with digital-asset management or a broadcast news operation is strongly recommended. Candidates should be energetic, self-motivated and willing to learn new skills and technologies. An ability to work well with others and to be a team player is essential. College degree required.
The role reports to an executive producer.
