Young entrepreneurs do business on MySpace

Bypassing conventional media advertising, young small business owners create sites on MySpace to reach their desired demographics. While MySpace charges for run of site advertising, the creation of pages is free and the inherent social networking machinery draws traffic.

You have to wonder if all this grassroots commercialism of MySpace, in conjunction with MySpace’s plans to better leverage the site, will create an atmosphere that will repel the same early-adopters that got the site off the ground in the first place.
What ever happened to the simple concept of, “a place for friends?”
