TBS game show takes texting to next level
Cory Bergman August 3rd, 2006
Calling it the first live interactive game show in the U.S., TBS will debut “Midnight Money Madness” later this month. Viewers participate by texting their answers to questions — and if they’re selected — speaking live on the air. “It could be like ‘Dialing for Dollars’ for the next generation,” said Steve Koonin, EVP and COO of TBS and TNT

which leads me to believe the local polish community will love the concept of interactive “Bowling for Dollars”. based on a version of internet hunting the chosen participant controls the delivery down the lane via his/her mouse.
still working on how the flat pitcher of warm beer is dispensed though.

Game Show Network already has this– it’s called Play Mania.

the UK has had live interactive gameshows for many years, not just shows but whole channels! Hopefully this scurge of the TV world wont infect your country too much!

yes, these things on the UK channels are tough to stomach. They go all night, it’s really just legalized gambling over there as you get charged for the call even if you don’t get through. In the US we are spoiled with 1-800 numbers, so hopefully you will not get charged just for calling, but for some reason a lot of people prefer sending text messages (and paying) than calling toll free!
