Time Warner Cable says NFLGetReal.com
Steve Safran August 3rd, 2006
Time Warner Cable has launched NFLGetReal.com as its broadside in the battle over the NFL Network’s status as a channel on TW Cable. The NFL Network wants about 90 cents per subscriber, a cut TW Cable considers too high. TWC dropped the NFL Network, but the FCC ruled it must reinstate the channel.

Please keep the NFL Network channel in your line up. I would love to see it go from Digital Basic Plus to Expanded Basic so I could see it on other TVs other than the one in the family room with the cable box. We were so very happy when Adelphia started to carry the NFL Network so please don’t take it away from us now.

Please don’t turn off the Nfl Network. That channel is the best on TV. It’s bad enough we cant see New York Mets games, so dont take the NFL Network away. Also, never take the Braves Games away or I will switch to satleite.

Let me sum this up. Time Warner and the NFL Network are fighting over who gets paid for giving the subscriber the shaft. Time Warner wants the NFL network cheap so they can put it on the higher tier and charge more for themselves. the NFL wants to raise the basic price and make everybody pay for it whether the want it or not. Don’t any of you out there think for a single second that this is about doing what is the best for the subscriber! It is about who will have a fatter wallet after this football season!TW or the NFL Network, plain and simple!

This whole thing is ridiculous. Just put it on and stop the arguing over money. With it on everybody WINS!!!! ESPECIALLY THE SUSCRIBER.

Everything was great until Time Warner took over our cable service. This was a non issue with comcast and all of a sudden the NFL network is in jeopardy. The cable provider in this instance is to blame and needs to step up and include the NFLN as a channel and not as a “pay by play” alternative..The whole thing is ridiculous..

Ridiculous: As a Suscriber to Time Warner I am being denied the opertunity to view one of the best new sports channels available just for NFL Football. MONEY IS THE ISSUE: What ever side is right. The sport fan is still without the opertunity on CABLE

GET REAL WOULD YOU PEOPLE! OTHER PROVIDERS, DISH AND DIRECT, HAVE THE NFL CHANNEL. IT IS NOT A PART OF A “PACKAGE” NOR IS THERE ANY ADDITIONAL COST FOR IT!!!! IT IS A BASIC SERVICE CHANNEL WHICH IS WHAT TW DOES NOT WANT. IE., STICK YOU AND ME.
TW SOAKS ME, YOU, AND EVERYONE ELSE AND THEN PUTS IT ON THE UNFAIR UNREASONABLE NFL CHANNEL, AND YOU BELIEVE IT, AND THEM.
PLEASE……………

you say it would be unfair for everyone to pay for the nfl network, because not everyone has interest in it. well i can think of quite a few channels on basic that i have no interest in , but I still have to pay for them. tw is the worst cable company by far, well at least I’ll still have my mlb extra innings package this summer, oh wait i forgot im losing that as well. so in closing i really hope you people save face and bring back the nfl network, because im sure you have plenty of unhappy sports fans as customers, who just might be willing to switch to sattelite.

I would like to see the NFL network to be offered before football season this year. It makes it awfully tempting to switch to Direct TV.

Today my TW rep tried to convince me that TW’s refusal to carry NFL Network was out of concern for my rates! Concern for my rates? What a hoot! The only concern TW has for my rates is how to raise them while blaming “the other guy” for having done so.
Both NFNetwork [NFL Ownership in disguise] and Time Warner are equally to blame. The heart of the matter is [as always] money. All this talk about concern for the fan / customer is merely a smoke screen. Neither one gives a fig about the customer. The only thing either one of them cares about is money and making more of it.

As a Time Warner subscriber, and a huge football fan, I can’t believe Time Warner and the NFL Network can’t get together on this situation. Just get it done.
16. Dave James | August 6th, 2007 at 6:39 pm
Time Warner Cable is a joke, basically a monopoly because directv isn’t available for certain condos, and there is no other cable choice. Time Warner is already worth so many billions and they are really antagonizing America because most people in this country love football. Time Warner, you are ridiculous and I have to say that I would never buy any of your stock because of the way you treat your consumers. By the way, Time Warner Cable sucks so bad it’s not even in big cities like Miami.

I blame the NFL for this. They dont care about their fans one bit. All they care about is getting as much money is possible. I dont blame them for wanting to make money, but when it starts hurting the fans, thats when there is a problem. A prime example is how they have an exclusive deal with satellite providers. So if you want to see all the games, you have no choice but to get satellite, which sucks outside of NFL ticket. If they really cared about their fans, they would allow NFL ticket to be available through cable companies also, instead of creating this monopoly. Now they come up with NFL network, which is just another way to take more games away from basic cable and charge up the ass for the NFL network. Just another way the NFL bends over its fans every chance it gets.

I myself am very disappointed that the one team I root for is about to be off our regular basic tw cable. I think this is a disgrace and dishonor to your loyal customers. Prices for regular HBO, Encore are very high its ridiculous for the average persons who live paycheck by paycheck. There is no more loyalty it’s about how bad do you want to see to pay for it. It’s totally unfair. Very dissatisfied customer.

SOMETHING THAT CAN BE A FAMILY EVENT IS IN QUESTION. BUT,YOU HAVE NO PROBLEM LETTING PEOPLE SUBSCRIBE TO HBO OR ANY OF THOSE OTHER RATED R CHANNELS. GO BACK TO TN WITH YOU BULL !!!!! IF YOU HAD COMPETITION HERE I AM SURE THIS WOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. FOR THE MONEY WE PAY WHY NOT HAVE THE NFL CHANNEL AFTER ALL REGULAR TV SHOW THE SAMR S—T OVER AND OVER AT LEAST ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK WE CAN SEE SOME REAL TELEVISION.
20. Angela Hager | August 30th, 2007 at 3:50 pm
All I want is to be able to actually watch what Football game I want regardless of where I live. I would like to see the NFL Network back on the air or an NFL Field Pass package that we can at least choose to buy if we would like. This excuse about prices going up is a crockhat is the excuse that the same package I have had for four years goes up every so many months anyhow. I pay for all the channels and services but hey at least I get to watch the Browns play! I would rather not watch at all in that case!

26. Frank | December 22nd, 2007 at 10:41 am
I want NFL network available for Time Warner customers, If it is not offered I will be making a change ,if TW doesn’t resolve this issue soon.
27. R Schaeffer | December 22nd, 2007 at 4:50 pm
If TWC can’t resolve this ASAP , I will drop TWC ASAP. They must realize they are not the only game in town . How many channels are there , that you make us pay for that we do not watch….OH , thanks again for raising my rates , AGAIN ! I also noticed you raised the rate for the Digital Sports Tier . ENOUGH ALREADY!

I do not want to have to pay extra for the NFL Network, because the NFL is now a league that lacks integrity.
During the 2007 season, there has been wide speculation that the NFL has been fixing games in favor of the New England Patriots, particularly the 11-25-07 contest versus the Philadelphia Eagles and the 12-3-07 game against the Baltimore Ravens, so that the NFL can use the Patriots’ undefeated season as a bargaining chip during the league’s dispute against the cable companies.
To be more specific, the NFL supposedly fixed the Patriots’ wins against the Eagles and Ravens so that New England would remain undefeated for its 12-29-07 game versus the New York Giants, a contest originally scheduled to be televised exclusively on the NFL Network.
Furthermore, if the Patriots were to be undefeated prior to their regular-season game against the Giants, then the 12-29-07 contest would mean something so big and very valuable to the point where the NFL reportedly would have a golden opportunity to force cable companies to carry the NFL Network on a very lucrative basic cable tier, therefore forcing the hands of the cable companies.
As it turned out, the Patriots were undefeated going into their regular-season game against the Giants (as the Patriots are unbeaten going into their Super Bowl matchup versus those same Giants), but the NFL caved in by allowing the 12-29-07 Patriots-Giants game to be televised by both CBS and NBC.
The league reportedly, and reluctantly, opted not to limit the 12-29-07 Patriots-Giants game to its NFL Network, because of mounting pressure from both frustrated fans and agitated politicians.
However, the strong possibility that the NFL fixed games (and tainting the Patriots’ undefeated regular season) in an attempt to benefit its beloved NFL Network makes me not want to watch the NFL Network, let alone have to pay for it.
Therefore, again, I do not want to pay anything extra for the NFL Network. For reasons already explained, I should NOT HAVE TO pay anything extra for the NFL Network. I support Time Warner Cable’s decision not to carry the NFL Network.
And, finally, I would love to see the NFL Network fold sometime in the very-near future, because this is a network that is run by a corrupt and greedy league.
