Creating a Lost Remote t-shirt

Cory Bergman August 14th, 2006

As Chip suggested in comments earlier today, we should have a Lost Remote t-shirt. So let’s come up with a pithy slogan and I’ll sell ‘em at cost. Whoever comes up with the winning slogan gets two free t-shirts. I’ll start it out in comments…

    the web is not tv

    or in geek:

    web<>tv

Web producers can wear it with pride!

This may just be an Australian thing so may not work for you, but you’ll often hear the remote referred to as the ‘clicker’ here. With that in mind:

    find your clicker

or…if it’s not too obscure a reference to customers as click-throughs, web-surfing, etc:

    find your clickers

Both of those could very well be taken in a way I would of course never have intended, but to be explicitly low-brow, something along the lines of:

    click size matters

  • 12. Amanda  |  August 14th, 2006 at 6:32 pm

I’m all for Cory’s idea of the “web is not tv”

I have a few collegues who’ll need one.

  • 13. Safran  |  August 14th, 2006 at 6:39 pm

Wow. So many good ones. And we should take advantage of the on-demand nature of cafepress and offer more than one.

    I really like:

    Brad’s FILE > OPEN > WEB > TV > INFO

I’ve always liked Cory’s “GET LOST”

I push my own “Live, Local and Late for Lunch”

And a few more from me (although I am excluded from the contest:)

    - Convergence Urgence
    - We all say what’s news
    - Get over your platform
    - No dead trees or CRTs
    - It’s Made of Tubes

Great ones so far. Here’s another, in honor of Safran:

    One viewser at a time

    -or-

    It’s VIEWSER, stupid

And I think I would get in trouble with this one:

    TV - web = unemployment

    or

SELECT FROM lostremote WHERE tv EQUALS future

    Yet another one…

Web producers can do it on any platform

I agree - the web is not TV & get over your platform are the best.

Can he win his own contest?

Web producers do it on any platform.

  • 32. Chris Rooney  |  August 15th, 2006 at 7:30 am

Damn! I was going to try to come up with something using “viewser.”

How about “Dude, where’s my media?”

    “Multi-media frenzy”

    “Got ideas?”

    “Find the future”

    “The convergence connection”

    “My screen’s wider than yours”

Oh, I like David’s. We should have made this a Photoshop contest. The TV Bomb is good, and the 404 error over a test pattern is inspired.

“The only remote you’ll ever need”
    “Changing channels of communication”
    “Dude, where’s my convergence?”

I also like “It’s VIEWSER, stupid” and “web producers do it on any platform” ( b/c I used to really like those “Co-ed Naked ” t-shirts).
How about “The media does it on camera”?

Or, “doing it on the web” ?

And, like Amy, I’m hoping for some shirts that fits the ladies.

[...] Waaaaay back in August, we asked everyone for ideas for a Lost Remote T-shirt. Now I’m finally getting around to opening it up for a vote. Click here to vote for your favorite titles (you can vote for more than one), and the winning title will make it on a Lost Remote T-shirt. If you happened to have suggested the title back in August, you get a free shirt. Also, you can suggest another title in the survey, if you like, for the next T-shirt vote. [...]
