POSITION SUMMARY
Do you have a passion to perfect the user experience? Do you strive to make things work better? The team responsible for the online development of the 10 Disney-owned, ABC local television stations is looking for a meticulous, seasoned developer to help propel our 10 local television news sites into the future. Our local news sites serve some of the largest markets in the U.S., including: New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Toledo, Flint, Fresno, Raleigh-Durham, Philadelphia and Houston.
The Technical Producer (Contests & Promotions) will be responsible for the planning, technical development, quality assurance and maintenance of all ABC OTV online contests, promotions and sweepstakes (i.e., sweepstakes). This person will own the end-to-end sweepstakes development process and must be able to manage multiple, simultaneous sweepstakes projects with aggressive timelines. In addition to sweepstakes, this person will serve as a member of the site development team and will assist with client-side technology development, technical production of the user registration system and other site-specific technical needs.
As Technical Producer (Contests & Promotions) you must be able to synthesize clear business requirements from customer inputs and must be able to drive project execution in an organized and disciplined manner. You will be responsible for the product throughout the entire execution cycle (from concept to closure), including: gathering product requirements, defining product vision, creating preliminary concepts, and working closely with various local and national business entities to implement and iterate. You must possess near flawless communication and organizational skills with an innate ability to work both independently and on a team.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION:
BA/BS degree or equivalent (BA/BS in computer science or related field strongly preferred).
3+ years cross-platform web development experience.
Excellent leadership, communication skills and flawless attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience gathering design requirements.
Excellent technical skills with the ability to adapt quickly to technology and tools.
Demonstrated ability to excel and lead without close supervision.
A strong sense of drive, ownership, passion and a commitment to the user experience.
Passion for increasing user engagement and building/creating online communities.
Deep interest in or knowledge of the television and/or news business a plus!
SPECIFIC SKILLS
Required Skills:
Expert knowledge of and demonstrated, practical experience with: HTML, XML/XSLT, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS and web standards (including cross platform differences).
Advanced knowledge of one or more scripting languages (JSP, ASP, PHP, etc.).
Understanding of Object Oriented programming and design.
Web development best practices.
Preferred Skills:
Extensive experience with one or more content management systems.
Advanced PhotoShop and/or Illustrator experience.
Advanced Flash (front- and back-end) experience.
User interface design experience.
Database, SQL experience.
