Gather news and information for newscasts; play an active role in
deciding newscast content, how stories are produced and where they
will be placed within the newscast. Write news copy; assign and
supervise writers and associate producers; prepare newscast formats;
plan and coordinate graphic elements in the newscast. Line produce
the 10pm News weeknights and fill in as necessary to produce FOX5’s
other newscasts and special reports. Candidates must have a minimum
of three years experience producing TV newscasts for broadcast on a
commercial TV station. The ability to write conversational broadcast
copy under deadline and proficiency in English grammar, spelling and
punctuation are essential. Candidates must also be able to
communicate effectively with the public, both in person and over the
telephone.
