DUTIES :

Write or select and publish news and other stories to komotv.com and
other Fisher Interactive Network web sites. Ensure consistency and
accuracy of stories on the site and consistency with KOMO News.
Ability to react to and post breaking news quickly and accurately is
a core expectation of this position.

Generate and research original story ideas for komotv.com, and find
links and additional information to complement online versions of
KOMO News stories. Monitor KOMO air and other information sources for
breaking news. Capture and edit still images and video and post to
site. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. BA/BS degree or equivalent (Degree in journalism or related field
strongly preferred).

2. Strong writing skills required.

3. Journalism background and knowledge of AP style required.

4. Strong graphics skills desired.

5. Strong computer skills desired.

6. Experience with Photoshop, HTML, and digital video editing is
helpful but not necessary.

7. Must be self-motivating and able to work well with a diverse group
of people.

8. Must be able to handle stress, including short deadlines.

9. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and
verbal.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.

2. Must be able to read and write (with or without corrective
devices).

3. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

4. Must be able to speak clearly (with or without corrective
devices).

5. Must be able to work nights/weekends.
