TBS gets funny with online video
Cory Bergman August 22nd, 2006
These online video announcements are coming fast and furious. Coming this fall, “Laugh Lab” on TBS.com will feature standup performances from more than 80 comedians as well as entire episodes of My Boys and 10 Items or Less. And TBS is launching a new site on Wednesday called Veryfunnyads.com, which mirrors the network’s airing of The World’s Funniest Commercials. Viewers will be able to watch the ads online and email their favorites to their friends. As an aside, I think TBS is making the right move by creating this separate site — which has plenty of potential as a standalone destination outside TV.

I wish they’d go get some “classic” ads, too - and let me download them. I’ll even pay for the downloads, what more could an advertiser want?
In fact there’s an old, old (Bud?) commercial with Keith Jackson announcing a wedding as if it were the Auburn-Alabama game that I’d gladly pay three bucks for, maybe even five. TBS if you’re reading this, let me know when you’ve got it ready to sell - and if you want a list of other ads I’d pay for, respond in comments with an e-mail address.
