Video sites as new route to fame & (maybe) fortune

Steve Safran August 22nd, 2006

Broadcasting & Cable’s Anne Becker rounds up the latest web-video-to-riches stories in her article “TV’s New Greenhouse.” Used to be you needed a $50,000 student film to be seen in Hollywood. Now you need a couple of minutes of cheap, interesting video put up on YouTube, Google Video or the like. I like the concept of amateur web video hosting sites as “greenhouses.” Survival of the funniest. Very Darwinian.
