Paltalk with Opie & Anthony

I just learned about Paltalk form a colleague of mine yesterday. It’s a cool video chatting service that basically turns chat into a video conference call of sorts. Opie & Anthony use Paltalk so their audience can watch them and each other. The best part, the audience gets to see what’s going on during the commercials! Seems like every talk radio program should do this and there’s almost no costs involved for the radio broadcaster. You can download Paltalk for free, but it costs $14.95/month to watch Opie & Anthony.

No, you can download Paltalk for free, pay $60 a year for the upgraded service, and that’s it. Once you’re in, Opie and Anthony are free (they’re just another room).
The $14.95 price is the monthly price for Paltalk “Extreme” but the annual price is significantly lower.

The Bob and Tom radio show has been doing video streaming of their show for a while now. Using their service, you can watch the studio camera during the show in either Windows Media or Real Media.
As with OandA, this service comes for a price. It’s about $30 for 6 mos.

I’m glad to see Opie & Anthony getting some mention on this site. They’ve been a radio show that’s used streaming media and the Internet to their advantage for several years now. For all the talk about them being idiots, they sure do a clever, highly entertaining show.
