If I just needed to look up somethnig in a book for a research project, something like this would come in handy.

Otherwise? I'd prefer to curl up in a chair and read an actual book.

There is something about a book though that I don't mind and in fact, enjoy holding.

Unlike a newspaper, you don't get ink on your hands.

Plus, unlike a PDF, you have a better visual understanding of how much you've read by how many pages you have left. You can physically see reading progress, if that makes sense.

Now, if someone were to create a book with digital pages that could change dynamically to your reading request, I would withdrawl this statement. Well, as long as the pages don't feel too weird. But by the time that comes along, I'll be an old man stuck in my ways.

can electronic paper be far behind???

the same argument someone made about watching tv on a computer screen will be made about curling up with a good book.

enter a book-like thingy you download to over and over again.

you probably won't have individual pages, but the thought is intriguing.
