PART-TIME WRITER

KPTV FOX-12/KPDX UPN-49 is seeking a PART-TIME WRITER to write news stories for the station’s newscasts that are informative, interesting, and entertaining to the stations’ viewers.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Write news stories and features into an appealing newscast.
Coordinate with video editors to ensure timely editing of stories and features for newscasts.
Coordinate graphics requests with the art department and production.
Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience: Four-year college/university degree in Journalism, Communications, or other related field, preferred. Two years experience as a writer for commercial/public television or commercial/public radio. Knowledge of blending words and pictures into informative and interesting television news stories. Knowledge of issues affecting the Pacific Northwest, specifically the Portland metro area.
Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to write well, write often, and write quickly.
Must be able to perform quality work under high-pressure deadline situations.
