Waiting for Daylife to launch
Cory Bergman August 31st, 2006
If you haven’t heard of the site, well, you should. It’s a citizen news startup funded by Craig Newmark (yes, Craig from Craigslist) with Jeff Jarvis as editor-in-chief. “Daylife will gather, analyze, organize and create a new, distributed platform for the world’s news,” explains Jarvis, who won’t say much more about it (yet). The site is still in super-secret mode, and all you can glean from it is the fact they’re looking for a ton of engineer/dev types. Somehow, it will be linked to NewAssignment, a site under development that aims to encourage “smart mobs” of regular folks to submit ideas and cover the news.

thanks! but my role in this is microscopic, Jeff and Upendra do the heavy lifting. I’m strictly an amateur, doing my small part to stand up for the real workers.
