PTC president to step down
Cory Bergman September 1st, 2006
Broadcast execs are doing some early Labor Day celebrating with this news: Brent Bozell, founder and president of the Parents Television Council, said today he’ll step down on Jan. 1. Unfortunately, he’ll still be on the board, but perhaps his upcoming departure will bring some sanity to the group that’s largely responsible for fueling the government’s indendency crackdown. Earlier today, Bozell’s group filed a complaint with the FCC over the “fall over ass and tit” comment by Helen Mirren during NBC’s Emmy broadcast.

this may be one of those “be careful what you pray for” times; The Church Lady has been out of work since leaving SNL.

Hopefully they won’t replace him with someone even nuttier.

I don’t think Bozell is the problem, to be honest. The PTC will file these nutty complaints regardless of who is doing their bidding. Still, it would be nice if the new boss came in and said “It’s only TV. Lighten up everyone.”

But what if someone says “ass” or “bollocks” during the British Parliament segmets on CSPAN?
