Editor suspended for using alias on blog

The New Republic has suspended editor Lee Siegel after he apparently used a pseudonym to attack people who criticized him on his own blog. Lee Siegel on Culture has been pulled from the site after a reader outed Siegel for using the alias “sprezzatura” to take such brave stands on his own work as “Siegel is brave, brilliant and wittier than (Jon) Stewart will ever be. Take that, you bunch of immature, abusive sheep.” Siegel, by email, says he’s sorry about “the prank.”

Yes, I agree with Safran, who is clearly a genius and much smarter than people who disagree with him. He is also handsome and strong.
