Belo-owned, KHOU.com is adding multiple fulltime Internet news
producers. Applicants should have a college degree and the equivalent
of at least two years recent experience writing and editing news
content in an online, print or broadcast newsroom.

The producer will specialize in print style writing, copy editing and
editorial gathering with a focus on local breaking news and weather
content. The producer will glean information from various sources and
contacts and reproduce the above material into strong compelling web
material. Producer will have the ability to write, rewrite, edit,
produce and update site content on deadline and be well versed in AP
style.

Experience in video digitizing, editing and encoding techniques,
breaking news and reader-submitted content in an online environment
is essential. Critical web applications include HTML, Dreamweaver and
Photoshop, plus advanced knowledge of Internet publishing software and
content management systems.

Producers must be able to interface with managers, producers and
reporters in a broadcast newsroom to manage the delivery of content
using new distribution platforms.
