KPTV FOX-12/KPDX UPN-49 is seeking a WRITER to write news stories for the station’s newscasts that are informative, interesting, and entertaining to the stations’ viewers.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Write news stories and features into an appealing newscast.
- Coordinate with video editors to ensure timely editing of stories and features for newscasts.
- Coordinate graphics requests with the art department and production.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience: Four-year college/university degree in Journalism, Communications, or other related field, preferred. Two years experience as a writer for commercial/public television or commercial/public radio. Knowledge of blending words and pictures into informative and interesting television news stories. Knowledge of issues affecting the Pacific Northwest, specifically the Portland metro area.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to write well, write often, and write quickly.
- Must be able to perform quality work under high-pressure deadline situations.
