ABC still plans to air 9/11 miniseries
Cory Bergman September 9th, 2006
Despite a flood of criticism for distorting reality, ABC is moving forward with plans to air “The Path to 9/11” on Sunday and Monday nights. The network made a few tweaks, but that wasn’t enough for former President Bill Clinton, whose lawyers wrote Disney’s Bob Iger a pointed letter. “Despite press reports that ABC/Disney has made changes in the content and marketing of ‘The Path to 9/11,’ we remain concerned about the false impression that airing the show will leave on the public,” reads the letter. And if that’s not enough, President Bush has asked the networks for airtime at 9 p.m. ET on Monday night — right in the middle of the miniseries’ second half. But ABC plans to interrupt the film for Bush’s 20 minutes and then return to it when he’s done.

I think Assimilated Press has uncovered what’s going on with Disney read:

Unlike a lot of people who’ve written about this, I’ve actually seen the original version of the movie. My initial reaction was that it was a bit boring, and it’s difficult to see just how they spent $40 million on it.
Even though I’m by no means a 9/11 expert, I did have some questions about some of the scenes–even before this week’s complaints surfaced.
It’s not the worst thing that’s ever aired, but it’s also an instructive lesson on the reasons why programs about news events should really be produced by the network news division.

I’ve seen it as well. Brilliant.
Dedicated people at Langley and the J. Edgar Hoover building, working around the clock to capture or kill Bin Laden, Ramzi Yusef et al. And all their efforts derailed by Clinton appointees like Berger and Allbright- selfishly putting their own careers (and covering their asses) before protecting the USA. The line of the show delivered by the actor playing Masood, brave and charismatic leader of the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan:
“…are there any men left in Washington? Or are they all cowards.”

I’m watching it now and Clinton is nowhere to be seen . . .just like on the War on Terror.

You guys know that ABC admits it’s a false account of history, right? Fictionalized, they call it. (Brad: It’s make-believe.)

Both chair-persons of the 9/11 Commission say this movie is accurate.
They just said the money line, but they edited the scene where the Northern Alliance was about to take out Bin Laden, but Bill Clinton refused to give the order. Incredible.
Clinton’s lies and ineptitude cost America 3,000 lives and the World Trade Center.

Indeed. I can understand why the Clintons were wearing their Depends about this movie.
