Sen. Stevens calls net neutrality a ‘fetish’

What would we do without ol’ Sen. Ted “Tubes” Stevens? While pushing for his franchise reform bill (I suggest better McDonald’s bathrooms), Tubes is bemoaning that he’s getting delayed by the network neutrality lobby. “It’s a fetish. It’s really something that doesn’t exist,” said the esteemed Senator from Alaska. In the interest of helping Sen. Tubes, may I suggest he avoid searching “fetish” on the internet?

He could try searching for that term, but his internet is full.

Sen. Stevens is being a complete douche on this issue.
The fact is, if most people knew about the threat to Net Neutrality
and what it really means for them, there’s no way in blue hell
that the Senate could pass it without a public outcry. I have
voted Republican straight down the line in the past, but I won’t
make that mistake again. The bad ones in the party are for big business, making sure they and their partners stay wealthy
even if it’s at the expense of their constituents. I still won’t vote
for any Democrat, but I won’t vote party line Republican any longer after seeing their response to this issue. Those Libertarians are starting to look pretty good to me! This administration and its cronies are stealing our liberties away
one by one. Let’s at least stop them on the issue of Net Neutrality. It’s not just about Yahoo vs. Google access issues,
it’s about freedom of information and an open and unfettered
exchange of ideas.

Ted Stevens: The Republicans’ poster boy for term limits. I really hope someone challenges Tubes (heh) in the primary in 2008.
