Multimedia Flash Producer, The Newseum
Washington D.C.
Cory Bergman October 5th, 2006
The Newseum, the interactive museum of news, has an opening for a Flash Developer to work with the multimedia staff to develop interactive features for the new Newseum (scheduled to open in DC in Fall 2007).
The Flash Developer will work with a small, busy multimedia team and may collaborate with other museum staff on media projects that are not flash-based. Applicants should be proficient in Flash 8, with a good understanding of ActionScript 2.0. Experience building data-driven Flash applications using XML formatted data is a plus, as is familiarity with dynamically loading media (video, audio, images). Although this is not a design-centric position, creativity and a good sense of design are desirable. An understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator and other media-based applications also is valuable for our potential long-term needs.
This is a full-time contractor position based in the DC/Metro area. Applicants must send a cover letter, resume and Flash work samples, preferably URLs or CD-ROMs.
Please submit a cover letter, resume and listing of three references to
