‘Heroes’ and ‘Jericho’ streaming favorites

Cory Bergman October 19th, 2006

The networks have released a few stats from their ongoing show streaming initiatives. NBC says it’s streamed 5 million individual show episodes to date. ABC says it streamed 2.5 million in the first two weeks. CBS won’t release stats, but the network says streaming traffic grew 300 percent since the first week. NBC says its most popular show is Heroes, and CBS says it’s Jericho (both are sci-fi and by definition attract a tech-savvy audience.) Finally, the ABC World News webcast was streamed 226,000 times in September, up from 62,000 times in February.

Don’t tell my local affiliate, but 7 o’clock is incredibly early for the beginning of primetime and I don’t have a DVR, so I’ve watched all but one episode of “Jericho” via Innertube.

I’ve also used NBC’s deal to watch the single episode of “Studio 60″ that I missed and I have watched one or two “Heroes” that way, but CBS’s rebroadcast of “Jericho” is really the only way that I’ve been able to keep up. Because it’s serialized, though my local affiliate might have an objection, if I weren’t keeping up with the storyline, it’d probably drop off my radar.

(Also, I have to say that I’ve used Inntertube to watch a couple of episodes of “How I Met Your Mother” because I like the show and Doogie’s character is great. It now comes on first, so there’s still that timeframe problem and it’s companion show (”The Class) sucks)

Ironically enough my wife and I tried the networks streaming services for the first time last night. What did we watch?

    Jericho and Heroes

Somehow we missed episodes of each despite having 4 DVRs in the house (human error).

I have tried to watch Jericho on Innerscope, but I have had problems with the stream. This is something that I would really be interested in, if it worked. I have streamed a couple episodes of Heroes in the past, and that worked fine, so I am wondering what innerscope is doing wrong.
