All civil at CNN’s blog party

Stephen Warley November 7th, 2006

Been hanging at CNN’s blog party for about an hour now. Tryst, an otherwise quiet place to have a cup of coffee, is a maze of wires, laptops, and studio lights. About 25 bloggers from across the country are here. Aside from some Internet connection issues, everyone thus far seems civil. Some of us have been wondering if folks have grouped themselves along party lines. Guess we’ll find out once the returns start coming in. I myself have chosen to wear a purple tie to show my solidarity with America’s moderate voters.

    Hi,

Was this event invite only? Is there a fee to do this? How does one get involved in something like this in the future?

I checked out the other blogs involved as well and it looks like you guys are having a good time down there in DC.

Yes, it was by invitation only. I think CNN was looking for a good balance, as well as a range of perspective. It’s been great. Everyone is blogging as they probably would have at home, but with the added element of watching returns with folks from across the aisle. Should be interesting as the night goes on!

wish I could check it out, but CNN doesn’t appear to have made Pipline free, even for today

Alyssa, unfortunately it was only free yesterday. Don’t worry CNN Pipeline will eventually be free one day!

Hey guys, why is it now that we start taking about the voting machines when the blackbox group has been raising concerns for this for a least a year. They told the republican vote chairman in Ohio about the problems and pushed through and bought it and now they are having the same problems again.

It seems that Election Day would’ve been a good time to let the public try out Pipeline, since it seems that more people than usual will be visiting CNN.com (vs. a regular Tuesday night).

Let’s just pray that no matter who wins they will win with a strong enough majority that we don’t have to hear from lawyers for the next 6 months! If a change is coming let it start with civility!

Also, I don’t find prayer an effective option.

I don’t know (about prayer), I’ve been praying for change and the Dem’s are winning, so there must be something to it.
