I tried the KING5.com site for either video clips
or the web stream live coverage that was mentioned here. The video clips won't work on my Macbook Pro and you wanted me to sign up for your site to just watch the live feed. But after quite a bit of time trying to get your regular video clips to work, I didn't spend any time signing up for your site.

When working for a station in a neighboring state in 2004, I spent the evening at the state election HQ. Our staff had to choose their words very carefully that night. All the Elections Commission people were pretty adamant that they did not wish to pronounce anyone the 'official' winner of any race until Wednesday morning... something about the absentee ballots needing to be counted.

At what point is it OK for a news outlet you're with to declare a winner?

(I also ask this because some media outlets declared Deval Patrick our new governor before 8pm, when polls in some towns don't close until 8pm).
