I dislike making predictions based off of exit polls as well, but I wonder whether this was a decision based on ethics or politics. Why wait until so late to make the announcement? Why no qualms about using exit polls in previous elections?

Exit poll numbers are unreliable, and I don’t think that’s news to anyone. Networks often rely too heavily on them in their rush to be the first to call a race, and sometimes it backfires. Good to see that Fox would rather wait and get it right than get wrapped up in the we-called-it-first melee.

So did they wait for actual results or did they just guess?

If they waited… good for them. Honestly, I just don’t like exit polling. It gets my hopes up only to be wrong.

If they guessed… was it all Republican or something?
