Amanda Congdon signs with HBO

Former Rocketboom host Amanda Congdon has inked a deal with HBO to develop and star in a comedy show. Details are still sketchy, but Congdon says it will be integrated with video online. “HBO is exactly the place where I want to be,” she said. “I’m most interested in playing in that new dimension with two parallel levels of programming, online and on TV.” After she left Rocketboom (of which she is still a part owner), Congdon has been focused on her Amanda Across America video blog while evaluating options from various media companies.

My main interest is what HBO has in mind specific to her content as being “multiplatform”? Will it be a hybrid of Cable and On-line, community content feeding into her cable show something else? It would be healthy for the medium to see a hybrid show driving content in both directions.

Wow, talk about lucky. That is the best way to describe Congdon. The press is describing her as the co-founder and half owner of vlog sensation Rocketboom. The real founder Andrew Baron posted a CraigsList.com ad and found Congdon that way. Congdon was just an actor looking for a gig to pay the rent. Baron is the founder, not her. Then Baron, the founder, offered Congdon 49% of Rocketboom as an incentive to keep her around, and she left anyway, yet she still apparently owns a large portion of his hard work at Rocketboom. Now she’s inked a deal with HBO?! Geesh.

HBO is a good hybrid of TV and Movies. Now add your Internet prowess and bingo - another smash hit.

Hey Steve, you must get your “facts” directly from Dembot. That was some nasty stuff and I’m it speaks volumes about Amanda”s intestinal fortitude that she has weathered the storm, moved on and, in fact, way way up. This is going to be fun.

I think it is great that she is going to be on hbo. Maybe she will do something with Katie Morgan. I would love to see Amanda’s tits. I bet you there is not a male or female fan of Amanda wo would love nothing more to suck on one of those tits of hers!!
