Disney announced it doubled its fourth quarter profit, thanks to a strong box office showing and success at its theme parks. Key digital details:
ABC.com has served up 19 million show streaming requests in the last six weeks.
ABC has sold 12 million show downloads on iTunes since October, 2005.
Since June, 53 million shows have been played on DisneyChannel.com.
Disney.com will undergo a major relaunch next year with “extremely robust features in shopping, television, movies, travel, music, social networking, and community.”
Disney is “weeks away” from a deal with Comcast which may include Disney movies and TV shows available on video on demand.
