Amazing ‘60 Minutes’ tribute to Ed Bradley
Steve Safran November 12th, 2006
Sunday’s “60 Minutes” was devoted entirely to Ed Bradley. It was simply fantastic. And not just because it was dedicated to the passing of a journalist. A simple memorial hour of “greatest clips” would have been sufficient. Instead, “60 Minutes” pulled off a celebration. I came away from it with a full sense of the man, something I didn’t have before. I have more respect for him than ever. I only wish I knew as much about him while he was still alive. Mr. Bradley was a bon vivant, and “60 Minutes” absolutely let that part of him shine. And if the end doesn’t give you chills - and make you smile - well, nothing’s going to. Thank you, “60 Minutes” for such an outstanding tribute to Mr. Bradley. And thank you, Mr. Bradley, for all you did for journalism, music and understanding.

Steve:
I second that sentiment. Check-out the Larry King show late last week devoted to Ed Bradley, as well.
What a guy!!

Well said, Steve. It was a great show.
I especially loved the scene showing Ed up on stage singing his heart out to “60 Minute Man.” Even though he was well-off key, it was clear he didn’t care what people thought…..he was having a great time and doing something he loved.

I have been watching 60 mins for over 20 years. And i must say that Ed was the best. I love Mike Wallace & all the others, but there was somthing about Ed that made you comfortable and you would open up to talk. To me the show will go on & i think it is the best, but there is a void without the comfort of Ed Bradley and what he brought to the show. He will be missed. God Bless.
