Heard in ‘Heroes’ promo
Cory Bergman November 13th, 2006
“Don’t hear about it in the morning. Be there Monday night,” booms the announcer in a dramatic promo for NBC’s Heroes. In other words, don’t suffer from the DVR workplace spoiler syndrome. Or, watch it live Monday night because our advertisers aren’t paying for time-shifted ratings.

But there ARE ads in the watch-it-on-the Web version.

I wish they also would have warned, “And don’t watch it on DVR because your Tivo will cut off the last 30 seconds,” as it’s done to me two weeks in a row. Argh.

Anyone else notice how two episodes ago the cheerleader and her kid brother had a couple lines about YouTube? The brother, after getting a tape of the cheerleader surviving death-defying acts: “I’m gonna put this thing on YouTube, and make like a million bucks.” The cheerleader: “YouTube’s free, you idiot!”

I noticed that… very clever and actually made sense. Better to say that than simply, “I’ll put it on the intrawebs.” or something lame.
Also, I think what NBC did about not missing out on Tuesday was a good idea. What’s wrong with creating some urgency?

So your TiVo cuts off the last 30 seconds? Easily solved. Just go to “Edit your Season Pass” and have the Tivo record an extra minute or so at the end.

I will watch it on Monday but I will not watch it live. I will watch it after it has already started to air so I can skip the commercials.

I missed the episode on November 13th. Does anyone know what the title was, I’d like to see if it’s going to be aired again.
