Another top NBC exec leaves
Cory Bergman November 16th, 2006
Updated: Two big moves in two days. NBCU Cable President David Zaslav has taken the CEO post at Discovery Communications. Yesterday NBCU Television Group President Randy Falco left to take over as CEO of AOL. “There’s an amazing team in place at NBC Universal, so leaving was not an easy decision,” Zaslav said. “I want to thank John Hendricks and Discovery’s shareholders for the opportunity to lead this great company. Simply put: this is a dream job.” These two departures combined with the NBCU 2.0 layoffs is adding up to tremendous change for the network right now.

Hmmm…. maybe if they cleaned house up top… the lieutenants wouldn’t leave! NBC clearly has done itself in thanks to the Zucker decisions.

Execs at NBC haven’t got a clue. I worked for the Sci Fi channel in print advertising. Then NBC bought Universal. What a mess that place is. Instead of leaving the cable stations alone, they split everything up. All advertising was to be done by The NBC Agency. The entertainment branch in L.A. never got things right. After 2 years Sci Fi got control of things again, but in a much smaller group. Now I’m out of a job because some executive thinks he knows what he’s doing. They should have fired them. Instead the people struggling to do a good job got screwed.
