Fan lines up to buy Playstation3… to sell on eBay
Steve Safran November 17th, 2006
Just ran a report here on NECN interviewing people who have been waiting all night (or longer) to buy the PSP3 which goes on sale today. One of them was asked why she waited all night in the rain. She said her PS3 “was going right on eBay.” Somehow I don’t think she’s the only one: a quick search of eBay finds the asking prices between $1,000 and - hello? - $3,000.

Same thing here in Seattle. Live shot. Reporter says everyone in line is flipping them on eBay or with pre-arranged clients.

I like the folks selling PS3-related e-mail addresses that they’ve already gotten on Yahoo and Gmail. One guy’s Yahoo e-mail account is at $100.

There’s a lot of these resellers out there. One guy interviewed said he wanted to sell his new PS3 to a parent with lots of money and a “spoiled brat” kid. Heh.
