TV and web equal for sci/tech info in broadband homes
Steve Safran November 22nd, 2006
The Pew Internet & American Life Project’s latest study finds that 40 million Americans rely on the internet (their lowercase “i,” not mine) as their primary source for news and information about science. That’s 20% of all Americans. For home broadband users, the web and TV and equally popular for science news. And the web is the source people would go to first for the specifics on a given science topic. (PDF of study)

The “i” should be lowercase. We don’t capitalize “television” or “telephone” or “radio.” Just one more step in getting the industry to stop thinking of the internet as a scary monster that lives in the woods nearby.
Oh, and I think the Pew number is low. What are the other 80% doing, watching Bill Nye the Science Guy?
Happy Thanksgiving.
