Position/Title: Web Managing Editor
Department: Promotion
Reports To: Creative Services Director
Group/Location: KPTV FOX-12, PDX-49/Portland, OR

Position Summary:
Lead and manage the editorial development of the PDX entertainment website. Responsible for directing the editorial staff, freelance writers and coordinating the production of the web site. Establishing content priorities and content production schedules. Write and edit stories.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
 Responsible for working with the Web Team to create and maintain various forms of web content, such as feature previews for upcoming events, restaurants, movies and other entertainment items.
 Assign and edit freelance writers projects for site.
 Creation and maintenance of publishing schedules; oversight of daily and weekly site updates; tracking internal schedule communication of upcoming content to appropriate parties.
 Work with sales staff to create integration opportunities on website.

Minimum Qualifications – All must be met to be considered.
BA degree Marketing, Communications, or Journalism. Minimum of 5 years experience writing and editing content for the web.

Skills and Abilities
 Excellent creative writing ability.
 Ability to proof-read and edit text with mastery of English grammar.
 Deep knowledge of Portland area entertainment activities.
 Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to conduct interviews personal or professional.
 Experience creating and writing content for web sites.
 Must be detail oriented and have good time-management skills to meet requested deadlines.
