As for Apple versus PC, I'd say Apple's recent advertising could be considered geared toward those that want to think young and hip, not those who actually are those things. Generally, I'd say that the average young person prefers a machine they can afford and one for which they can get software and freeware, I tend to think they lean more toward usability than some kind of statement. Oh, and hey --- Sorry about us old folks skewing the YouTube numbers, but where else can we find worksafe movies of young girls dancing? I bought my parents an iMac and recommend to all their senior friends to do the same. My mom doesn't like cables. There is one cable (power) coming out of her iMac. Try that with a desktop PC out of the box. It just works... Apples are more expensive (and yes, I realize the 55+ crowd can afford them) and are multimedia workhorses. If the 55+ crowd is anything like my parents, they want to check their email and do a little web shopping/surfing. They need a basic, $600 PC. That's what surprised me. I remain surprised.

The kids are working off hand held devices more and more which is where the future is. Big clunky desk installations are not where the users are going to be more and more. Think about THAT.
