"Better oppertunities?" To make a comparison to the TV world, this would be like a studio pulling their show off of FOX in hopes of ABC or CBS picking it up. But if the product just isn't interesting, no one will watch. It's. that. simple.

If, IF, CurrentTV fails, and it's still a long ways off from that, it certianly wouldn't be for a lack of trying on the part of Team Gore. They are definately trying to get people invested in this thing!

didn't terry semel come from tv???

unfortunately for yahoo, the site's features are taking on that appearance.

much of the stuff that was simple to use has become a pain.

just because their email accounts are offered for free don't make them worth the cost, you know?

I would suggest your first observation is the correct one as the premise for the joint deal as you know was for Yahoo! to bring more eyeballs to the equation, they did not do this, even with marginally produced content by U2.

Current, is I think better off since they have a focused brand strategy geared towards more professionally generated content. If I were advising them, I would collaborate with established producers to create a micro-site within current to create more buzz in that community and partner with NeuLion to get their content into homes, this via their cable by-pass TV solution among other ideas.
