YouTube unveils Quick Capture
Cory Bergman December 10th, 2006
It’s a new feature that allows you to record a clip straight on YouTube through your webcam. Just hit record and start yacking. Now, given the millions of webcams that are out there (basically a standard built-in feature on laptops these days), this is a big deal. Click a few buttons and broadcast yourself to the biggest online video network in seconds. Or, if you wish, post the clip in an embedded player on your own site. Say, why haven’t media companies done this? Oh that’s right, it’s not Entertainment or Journalism.

I love this… I went to try it the other day, but my digital camera doesn’t run as a webcam. I don’t think personally I’d have a use for it, but I could see millions of teenagers wanting to use it.

Of course, Youtube has employed state-of-the-art “College guy’s ass video detection software” to stem the influx of unsightly videos at around 2am every Saturday & Sunday morning…

Even your mobile phone can capture video directly on YouTube with help of little app Mobiola Web Camera. It just turns the phone into a wireless or wired standard camera and you can quickly capture with it video.
