‘Daybreak’ canceled, episodes to stream online
Cory Bergman December 20th, 2006
The new ABC show Daybreak is getting the ax. The terrific, 24-like show is a tough one to join mid-season, so ratings slipped and ABC did what networks do. My fiancée is a huge fan of the show, and fortunately the remaining episodes will be streamed online — a programming move that’s quickly becoming the standard. (Thanks for the tip, Jim!)

NBC did the same thing with “Kidnapped.” Hey, if you gotta pay for the shows you might as well produce them and display them somewhere.
2. Leon Brodie | December 22nd, 2006 at 8:06 pm
This hurts. Daybreak is about the only thing I like on TV at the moment and I’m so bummed that I pulled Lost off my TiVo and I’m not going to watch any more ABC shows unless I get to finish out the 13 episodes…
3. sean tubbs | December 23rd, 2006 at 10:16 am
As of 12/23, the show is still not streaming online as promised. They’re claiming a music clearance issue, but my hope is that they’ll reconsider the cancellation and put the rest of the shows on the air over a week-long period.
4. darrell | December 23rd, 2006 at 11:02 am
daybreak cancelled?that sucks, with all the wortless reality shows on tv that are nothing more than a waste of air time abc cancells one of the best new shows to come out in a long time.i couldnt wait for the next episode.i just want to tell abc that they suck
5. greg cooper | December 23rd, 2006 at 11:37 am

6. J.R | December 23rd, 2006 at 7:43 pm
Well. All thats left on Tv is junk now ,what are the stations thinking, they have all the junk left and all the good shows they take off half way, first Invasion and now Daybreak, shame on them for . they need to atleast show the complete show, how can you leave the viewers up in the air. Very dissapointed .Shame on them for doing this. Daybrek was a great show different from all the typical junk showed in tv these days.

DayBreak Canceled!! man that sucks. I was just talkin 2 my wife, complaining about not having my show DVR’d in the past couple weeks, then i look it up on the net, only 2 find out that it was canceled!! pissed off MAN!!
8. nate | December 25th, 2006 at 2:02 am
man! this is way 2 bad! i 2 am a huge fan of daybreak and 2night is rather irritating, because i watched all the episodes of day break 2o. It’s 2 bad for abc, because they definitely could of breathed life in2 this show and made it bigger than be4.. no but seriously, what type of christmas is this? losing a great show and getting another pair of snowboots as well? drat!
(apparently 2 is a lovely word)
9. Shana | December 25th, 2006 at 2:56 pm

Just put it back on…!!!!
10. Lana | December 25th, 2006 at 8:51 pm
Aleast finish the season!!!!! I’m sooooooooo upset!!!!!
11. Ne007 | December 27th, 2006 at 2:24 pm
I will NEVER watch another show until the 2nd season is already out. First they cancel invasion, then they cancel Blade and now Day Break…I know they aren’t all from the same network. BUT WHY DO THEY ALWAYS CANCEL MY SHOWS!
Are their any retarded execs out there listening?
12. Courtney | December 27th, 2006 at 4:02 pm

13. Jav | December 27th, 2006 at 4:51 pm
This sucks!! & abc sucks both My show (DAYBREAK) and my wife’s show (SIX DEGREES) got axed? We should let ABC know that this is not cool to the viewers!!!!!!! how are re-runs better for rating?
14. Paul | December 27th, 2006 at 5:23 pm
Are they putting the rest of the season online? Will the 7 they have ready conclude the season or keep us hanging?
15. DIanna | December 27th, 2006 at 6:29 pm
I AM SO UPSET with the cancellation. gah!
16. Mike | December 27th, 2006 at 6:52 pm
Its a darn shame. What do we have to do to get a boycott of ABC and anyone who has a comercial on ABC. I dont think the give a crap about what we want to watch.
17. RobbK | December 27th, 2006 at 7:08 pm
This sucks!!!I thought maybe they pulled it last week because the ratings would not have been good through the holiday. I’m looking forward to it ALL DAY today only to see another crappy George Lopez re-run on (something that SHOULD have gotten the axe long ago) and then get online to find out what the deal is and now I see that I wont get to see the conclusion??!!?I had watched since Ep1 and was hanging on to see how Hopper solved the case. This was one of the best new shows on TV in a while and I’m clueless why ABC gave up on this one when they hang on to shows that should have gone long ago.
18. cdawg | December 27th, 2006 at 7:30 pm
WTF. I figured the same same last week. I’m pretty bummed. Watched every Wed since the 1st week. Someone somewhere axed conviction on me… I think I’m gonna watch Rescue Me in the fourth season and just buy it, cause if I do some douche will probably cancel it on me….
This actuially blows.
19. Justin | December 27th, 2006 at 9:22 pm
I say hit up ABC.com, at the bottom they have a contact us, submit an email if your care that much……………I did
20. S | December 27th, 2006 at 10:12 pm
OMG, abc keeps cancelling all the good shows: invasion, te nine and now daybreak and theyre gonna keep trying new ideas and people will start 2 like them then they’ll cancel them and eventually ABC is gonna run out of ideas and ALL their viewers!!!!!!! how unfair 2 all of us!
21. sammy | December 27th, 2006 at 10:20 pm
fuck those abc shitbags

23. ABC-HATER | December 27th, 2006 at 10:22 pm
These goddam bastards should just die! Let’s boycott ABC, and let’s get SCIFI to buy the show from them! At least they won’t cancel it mid-season! Goddamn bastards! I have no words!
24. ABC lover but why? | December 27th, 2006 at 11:10 pm
I love and miss daybreak. It was a great replacement until we wait for the new lost season. im so dissapointed!!!!
25. pr | December 28th, 2006 at 12:19 am
wow!! i dont believe Daybreak was really cancelled. I am a college student and it is the only show i watched during school…. the ONLY show… it is truly a shame, abc is f-ing up
26. Clayton | December 28th, 2006 at 2:12 am
I thought I missed the last 2 episodes. I was busy during the holidays. I was going to catch up online and found that they weren’t even streaming the episodes anymore! And now I’ve found out that they canceled the series.
I am never watching ABC again.
27. Matt B. | December 28th, 2006 at 4:12 am
I am with you Clayton! I missed the last 2 episodes too and went to abc.com to catch up and found out they are not streaming them too!
Did a quick google search with “Daybreak cancelled” not even thinking it was true and found out it was.
I can’t believe that ABC would get this good of a series to fill in for LOST and then pull it early after such a huge set-up that needs to be continued to gain momentum. It was’nt going to be on that long anyway. Why get dedicated LOST fans to watch this (with the LOST scenes and all) and then screw them by pulling this crap!!
ABC invests all this money into developing these shows (also “The Nine” and “Invasion” which I did not know was cancelled) and then just thows them away? That is crazy and NOT smart. They could get more money if they keep them going at least for the DVD season sets potential.
I know I want “Daybreak” on DVD so I can share this awesome show with my wife! (No DVR)
What can we do now?
28. magic | December 28th, 2006 at 4:39 am
i just watch all six episodes tonight all in a row, then i went to see when the next one is on, and FUCK! canceled! the worst shit ever!
29. Julia | December 28th, 2006 at 11:27 am
Day Break was such a great and thrilling show. How can abc leave their viewers hanging like this? DAY BREAK was by far my favorite show on TV, I always look forward to seeing the next exciting episode. This is like seeing half of an awesome movie but unable to watch the end. Hopefully abc will at least put the show online for the faifful fans of daybreak!
30. tony | December 28th, 2006 at 12:48 pm
can u please at least put the final episodes of daybreak online . thats was a great show ,at least you can do for the fan is put it online
31. clovis | December 28th, 2006 at 3:22 pm

32. Brian | December 28th, 2006 at 8:54 pm
I’m so ticked that Daybreak is cancelled. My favorite show last year was invasion and this year was Daybreak. I’m boycotting ABC.
33. aaron | December 28th, 2006 at 11:35 pm
This really sucks. I was just telling my wife how great this show is. ABC blows.
34. Harry Krishna | December 29th, 2006 at 1:41 am
RIP:
Day Break
Invasion
Surface
Over There
Threshold
But just think folks! We get more of Super Nanny, White Trash Reality (and now in HD-TV so we can see the pock marks in sharper detail!!!!!!), American idol wanna be’s, and if we are really lucky, maybe more Jerry Springer?
Thank goodness Sci-Fi still has some brains and Battlestar Galactica is back, and Dr Who is still around. Guess network TV don’t need my viewing anymore.
35. NaKendra | December 29th, 2006 at 1:57 am
I was so disappointed that the show was cancelled. I thought something was wrong with my DVR also until I googled the show and found it was cancelled. It was really a good show. I guess people had to think too much to watch so it got canned. It’s really sad what is happening to television today.
36. NoWayJose | December 29th, 2006 at 2:13 am
What the gay, finish the show please.
37. UltraPants | December 29th, 2006 at 3:52 am
This is absolutely ridiculous. What the hell is going on ABC? First you torture all your LOST fans with some out-of-the-blue 13-week hiatus and give us Day Break. Day Break proved to be a rather competent filler for the hiatus, and I actually grew to like it by the second episode once the shock subsided. Then, simply because the viewers drop from that timeslot — BECAUSE YOU TOOK THEIR SHOW AWAY TO BEGIN WITH — you think it’s because Day Break is bad? It’s because it didn’t have the pull of LOST. I see no logic in now putting a show in for the remainder of LOST’s hiatus, only to be forced to either move THAT show to a new time, or move LOST to a new time. And you know what? It doesn’t even stop there. Your only other show I watched, Heroes, was also stopped recently until the turn of the year, another ludicrous move.
I hope things don’t change and you end up in the WB’s or UPN’s position next season and merge with another network, you trash, or at least start taking tips from CBS, that’s where all your Wednesday night viewers are turning to, for Deal or No Deal and CSI. Wise up, please.
38. pat | December 29th, 2006 at 6:50 am
ABC is by far the worst station on television. Why on earth would you cancel daybreak. Maybe if you put all the shows online so people could catch up, i.e. what heroes has done. Great move abc?
39. sick of being dicked over | December 29th, 2006 at 10:58 am
WHY SHOULD I INVEST ANY MORE OF MY TIME IN ANY OF THE NEW SHOWS THAT COME OUT……….EVERYTIME I GET INTERESTED IN A NEW SHOW IT GETS CANNED……..ABC COULD AT LEAST FINISH OUT THE LAST OF “DAY BREAK” SINCE THERE WASN’T MANY EPISODES LEFT!!!!!!!!
40. chris | December 29th, 2006 at 3:36 pm
I can’t believe this, they leave a show like lost on the network, and then cancel Daybreak a show that motivates people to even watch there little piss ass network. Like anyone gives a damn if the lost ones are ever found or come back for that matter lol……..
41. Hunky | December 29th, 2006 at 6:09 pm
You have GOT to be kidding? This is absolutely ridiculous! It’s caprecious & arbitrary!!!
42. Brian | December 29th, 2006 at 7:44 pm
I liked Daybreak too. Lots of great shows started with bad ratings!!!
43. James Bradley, Jr. | December 29th, 2006 at 10:13 pm
I can’t believe they cancelled this show! It was one of my favorite shows to watch, and perhaps one of the best shows on TV. I also miss Six Degrees, which I was really starting to get into. Instead, ABC is WASTING quality air time with VERY STUPID shows coming in January, such as Knights of Prosperity and In Case of Emergency. Neither of these shows look appealing or interesting to watch, and I know I won’t be watching either show. Oh well, there’s always cable and NBC!
44. M | December 29th, 2006 at 10:14 pm
I completely agree these networks give no one a chance to catch onto new shows before pulling them. I used to love Windfall, it ended supposedly for the season finale with a GREAT cliffhanger and BAM GONE!!! Now Daybreak. What’s the point of even starting to watch a show when all they do is cancel them? The big three (Abc, CBS and NBC) all suck and will never have loyal viewers.
45. Harry Krishna | December 30th, 2006 at 12:57 am
Hey folks, you also have to add FOX to the list of lame networks. It too, is notorious for canceling shows WAAAAAAAAY too early. That cliffhanger ending of Invasion, GEEZ!!!!!!!!
Some also thought Point Pleasant took too long to get going, but OH that last episode (which can ONLY be seen on the DVD set) will blow you away!!!!!!
But yes, just like the other mentioned, why start ANY new shows, when all that happens is they get pulled, and we are left hanging for the rest of our lives
The best idea is this - HEY IDIOT TV NETWORKS - if you aren’t going to let a show run for more than a few weeks, then PLEASE just make it a TRUE MINI-SERIES with only so many episodes, and PLAY every one of them with a FINAL ENDING!
Oh, and Heroes is on ABC? DOH on me, I was watching it on the Sci-Fi channel
Same with Threshold, which is also saldy RIP
Guess its time to take my meds to dumb down, sit back, and enjoy some more white trash reality TV again!
46. Pete | December 30th, 2006 at 12:12 pm
You guys really don’t know much about anything, do you? You have no idea how to introduce new shows. You talk them up and show previews for several weeks at the prime slots so everyone knows when it’s coming, show it for a few weeks, we get excited of a new show, you see the ratings are down from the time-slot, not the show, then cancel. What happened to moving a falling show to a different night? Or even trying again? Look at Family Guy. DAYBREAK was the only reason I decided to try your jackass-y channel again. You had me, but you lost me again. You think by moving it to the internet is going to make me happy? Oh sure, if I liked a smaller viewing screen, no 5.1 stereo surround, and lying in bed w/ my girlfriend as we’re both embraced w/ intensity of the show, then yes. Only, that’s not the way I enjoy watching T.V. The internet is for gathering info, not watching T.V. That’s what a T.V. is for. Please remove your heads out of each others’ asses and please put DAYBREAK back on T.V. I think you may win back some lost viewers. I guess I’m going back to FX, where all the real shows are at.
47. Jstew | December 30th, 2006 at 2:31 pm
I enjoyed the show from the beginning! Who makes these stupid ass decisions?

49. voyager | December 30th, 2006 at 3:47 pm
I also loved dayBreak and am extremely frustrated by its cancelation. They should have just finished it!
50. Josh | December 30th, 2006 at 3:52 pm
If there are not enough viewers, you have reason to cancel. I get it. However, if you keep cancelling mid-season, people are going to stop watching new dramas, like me. I will only watch dramas on DVD now, since then I’m guaranteed a full season. If people stop watching new dramas because of viewer mistrust, then your short term gains in ratings will lead to long term losses, of which I am an example. Daybreak’s mid-season cancellation is the last of many straws.
I think one issue with Daybreak was the difficulty of joining the show mid-season. The complexity of the show was both its strength and weakness. When on-line viewing of previous episodes takes off, people might try to catch up that way. I doubt people would want to watch half a season on-line, however. A better alternative would be to put repeats on some afiliated channel (sometimes in marathon mode), so that people can easily join a show late.
It would help if you put the remaining episodes on-line if you cancel mid-season. I see that even back-episodes of Daybreak were pulled from the on-line viewer. Very disappointing and another source of mistrust, especially when an on-line finish was promised. There are plenty of good shows that I never saw available on DVD and that’s become the only sensible viewing choice.
51. richard | December 30th, 2006 at 7:37 pm
cancelling this show was a mistake and quite unfortunate - you guys build up a show and then you don’t even give it time to succeed - ABC sucks - I keep looking to see if it is on line but to no avail - going to ABC.com tonight, you don’t even have the old hsows posted - get your acts togeher!
52. Jake Real | December 30th, 2006 at 10:01 pm
This was a total mistake by ABC to cancel this show!!! ABC sucks!
53. Rebecca | December 30th, 2006 at 10:44 pm
My husband and I were totally hooked on Daybreak and couldn’t wait to watch it each week. I am disgusted that it is cancelled and would at least hope ABC would have the decency to show the remaining epidsodes on line. We will never watch a new show ever again on ABC because they lack integrity and loyalty to their viewers. Not every show is going to be “Desperate Housewives”……….they are such spoiled babies at ABC.
54. Adrian Williams | December 30th, 2006 at 11:39 pm
Dumb, dumb, dumb.
ABC you are real dumbasses. This was one of the finest shows on television. Superbly written and well acted. Taye Diggs you are the man. I’ll miss seeing your beautiful girlfriend too.
55. TK | December 31st, 2006 at 9:05 am
It amazes me how some mindless shows stay on the air and shows that are at least thought provactive get cancelled. Daybreak makes you try and figure things out and although it seems far fetched, (no more so than LOST.) it deserves to be see in its entirety. ABC just isn’t too smart I guess.
56. Deb | December 31st, 2006 at 11:57 am
I don’t understand why shows are canceled mid-season. I mean, after all, the shows are already made, the cost of the show already paid, and ABC cancels it before it really gets started. It makes no economic sense to me, especially when there are people who would enjoy seeing the end of the season. If the shows are already made, why not put it on, even if it is at some weird time, and let everyone catch up on what has happened. Instead, ABC will show re-runs of shows that no one likes or even cares about. Makes no sense to me.
57. Melissa | December 31st, 2006 at 8:23 pm
I would just like to say that all of these show cancellations are really pissing me off. Tell me why it makes sense to bring on 800 new shows, and then ONLY CANCEL THE ONES WORTH WATCHING???? Daybreak, Kidnapped, Invasion were all really good…MORONS.
58. Patrick | December 31st, 2006 at 8:52 pm
As Bernie Mac would say….”That’s some BULL!” Daybreak was off of the hook. One of the best shows on tv and now it’s gone? And what’s the deal with cutting the season of Lost in half? Who’s running things over at ABC anyway? Guess I’ll have to stick to Fox.
59. jose | January 1st, 2007 at 5:20 am

65. PD | January 1st, 2007 at 10:32 pm
this is such a MISTAKE by the executives at abc in the short time the show was on it had me hooked and waiting for the next episode every week. Daybreak was the best show they had come out with in a while.
66. JayBird | January 2nd, 2007 at 6:53 am
Remember years ago when Moonlighting was taken off wasn’t that ABC as well. The fans of the show wrote into the network and got the show back on. Maybe we should do that as well. There’s not many episodes left and I would sure love to see the ending. Shame on ABC for doing that for some stupid comedy about robbing Mick Jagger. I hope someone listens….not all of us have access to a computer to watch the rest of the episodes. To the ABC execs…..PUT DAYBREAK BACK ON SO WE CAN SEE THE ENDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
67. JayBird | January 2nd, 2007 at 6:55 am
PICK UP INVASION FOR A NEW SEASON TOO THAT WAS A GOOD SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT HAD A SEASON FINALE AND EVERYTHING AND AS ALWAYS LEFT US FANS HANGING AND THEN NOTHING.
68. jeroen | January 2nd, 2007 at 12:09 pm
what a stupid move fromabc, you cant do that to the loyal watchers!!! this is crap really unbelievable!!! you are into a series and then they dont even make a finish!!! no no no terrible
69. Tayedigger | January 2nd, 2007 at 2:55 pm
Network execs can’t take the possibility of corporate corruption, police corruption or possibly this reaches to highest levels of corrupt American politics, but HECK we’ll never know. They axed the show before we even knew how far up the bad guys were. If the bad guys were third-world rag-tag middle eastern minorities and not cops, district attornies and corrupt judges then this show would still be on the air.
Shame on you ABC for being so obvious!
70. Jake | January 2nd, 2007 at 3:01 pm
Personally I think the last few episodes reveal ABC Network execs as the evil doers screwing with Taye Diggs life.
He then exposes them for the corrupt s**mbags they are.
71. Slick | January 2nd, 2007 at 5:54 pm
The execs at ABC are a bunch of TOOLS for cancelling DAYBREAK!
72. Red | January 2nd, 2007 at 6:04 pm
Several friends and myself are soooo addicted to Daybreak. I cannot believe that this great show has been cancelled. Fine believable actors, great script, what on earth is ABC thinking? In protest, I cannot watch any of their shows except Grey’s Anatomy & Desperate Housewives….darn!
73. Rob | January 2nd, 2007 at 6:17 pm
I can’t believe they would cancel this show. The actors were amazing and it was like tuning into a movie, not a show, every wednesday. It makes sense that some people don’t want to join a show midstream so why don’t they make a movie out of it? I don’t have any set shows because I watch mostly sports but I tuned in and even watched the episodes I missed on the internet….. I doubt I’ll ever get attached to another show on NBC because if a show like this gets cancelled then who knows what’s next.
74. Rob | January 2nd, 2007 at 6:20 pm
ABC not NBC… If ABC doesn’t think this show is good enough then maybe some other network can pick it up?
75. Lisa D | January 2nd, 2007 at 8:14 pm
Hello ABC, Are you stupid?????? Day break is a great show, you needed to give it more time to grow. I Tivo all the episodes and whenever a friend would be over, I would get them hooked on it! PUT THE SHOW BACK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
76. Callie | January 3rd, 2007 at 8:38 am
I can’t believe that they would say one week the show will be streamed online after the holidays and it dosen’t happen. I am very very disappointed
77. T Cjhuck | January 3rd, 2007 at 11:55 am
I don’t believe ABC has any intention of showing the rest of the episodes. This goes to a larger problem that we all will be facing very soon that is no longer being able to get over the air free TV. It’s all a scam. We are getting hooked on the internet episodes, podcasts etc…. and soon we will have to pay for it all.
78. pnut | January 3rd, 2007 at 12:01 pm
Fuck ABC!! Lost was the only reason I watched this shitty network, then Daybreak came on. Now there is nothing again thanks to some cum guzzling execs.
79. rickknight | January 3rd, 2007 at 12:36 pm
no wonder no one watches abc anymore, than they promise to air the shows on abc.com and screw us again the only way to get them is to write the companies that advertise on them, later
80. Nicole | January 3rd, 2007 at 12:42 pm
I agree with you all!!!!! It was one of the most captivating shows on tv. I went to the link “contact abc” on http://www.abc.com and sent them a message to at least allow the remaining episodes to stream online as a loyalty to their viewers. If enough people complain, we can make this happen. Seriously, if all 78 of you were to post the comments you have left on this site but do it on abc.com, we could at least hope to get them to stream the remaining episodes. Let’s do this within in the next few days…so they are inundated with requests!
81. Erik | January 3rd, 2007 at 2:36 pm
Damn You ABC!!!! DAMN YOU!!!!!!
I loved that show from day 1.
82. embeth | January 3rd, 2007 at 4:12 pm
I AGREE WITH “ULTRAPANTS” !!! (Dec 29th)
I cannot believe this, I thought they were just taking a break for the holiday season , this is B*********S******, My Husband an I loved that show and would put the kids to bed early just so that we could watch it peacfully . I did not like ABC before and I wont watch them again . And I will be writting ABC a nasty letter .
84. GSXR-1000 | January 3rd, 2007 at 5:48 pm
I really looked forward to Wed nights. Will the last episodes be available on DVD. It’s like my fix. I just got to have it.
85. HUGE DAYBREAK FAN | January 3rd, 2007 at 5:56 pm
WTF !!!!!!!!!!! That was my favorite F’ING SHOW !!!
FLUCK ABC ! FLUCK YOU !
86. Daybreak Fan | January 3rd, 2007 at 6:13 pm
What did ABC expect?
Like any show does well from mid November through mid December!!!
They would have been better off airing reruns of Lost and giving Daybreak a fair chance by airing it in next fall or even in the summer.
There’s not a damn thing on in the summer. More networks should venture into broadcasting new shows during the summer when the rest are on hiatus.
Not to change the subject but …does anyone know how and if the ratings are affected by the viewers like myself that are recording (Tivo or DVR) their shows? Any idea if these viewers are taken into account when determining the ratings?
Happy New Year to all!
87. DAYBREAK FAN | January 3rd, 2007 at 6:23 pm
THIS SUCKS BIG TIME…….GREAT SHOW NOW GONE…..SAD
ABC, YOUR WAY OFF BASE ON THIS ONE!
88. THINKING MAN'S SHOW | January 3rd, 2007 at 6:52 pm
You know why DAYBREAK was cancelled right? Because it made you think!!! Most lemmings like to be mindnumb on a show just long enough for the TV execs to place a few commercials in. Get it? Thinking people are LESS likely to buy just because a commercial plays inbetween their show. Daybreak is the ONLY show I watched. Thank God I’m getting Cable next week! Goodbye local Networks!
89. disappointed | January 3rd, 2007 at 7:23 pm
I’m not a TV watcher for the most part. I am not a reality person so I just don’t watch it. My dad got me started watching Daybreak about a month ago. I got so involved trying to figure out what should be done in the show! Thats never happened so I am really upset that the network canceled the show. I even got to where I would make sure I had free time to do nothing but watch the show and the last 2 weeks I sit there getting mad because it wasn’t on. Than tonight dad called and ask me what was going on and I read this website and now we’re are both pissed. Why not finish the series anyway so we can figure out the ended, why leave the fans hanging like this?
90. lynda | January 3rd, 2007 at 9:49 pm
I liked daybreak! I never even watch t.v. except for the news, this is the first show i liked. I hope the put it back on.
91. Anonymous | January 3rd, 2007 at 10:56 pm
I love daybreak it was so much higher quality than the other crap they have on there. I can’t believe they did this. I started to like it better than lost. Where is it streaming?
92. John | January 3rd, 2007 at 11:16 pm
Daybreak was a good show, but it was hard to see if you just flipped to it. However, that is what was good about the show and kept me watching. It was about time for a show that made you think! ABC should at least finish out the season, and the absolute very least place them online.
93. AC | January 3rd, 2007 at 11:35 pm
Besides Lost, ABC is just worthless. What really pisses me off is how they claimed Daybreak would be online but now it turns out they lied. I will be very cautious about getting into another ABC serial show if they don’t give some resolution to Daybreak.
94. G Harp | January 3rd, 2007 at 11:37 pm
I loved the show..and its suprising performance by Diggs. I stay away from television these days being over crowded by reality shows but Daybreak really brought back some originality and written creativity. What were you guys thinking? I would love to see this show come back or atleast the satisfaction of how it was going to end though it wouldn’t be the same. Bad call!!! Bad, bad, call!!! What will I watch now? I guess there’s always the creative American Idol…not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
95. Joe VanDalsem | January 4th, 2007 at 1:51 am
duuuuuuuuude~! What the hell? This makes me so mad. I loved this action version of groundhogs day. I was really bummed when invasion went off the air, but at least we got the end of the season, although, it left me wanting way more.
This one just cut off mid everything. COME ON YOU JERKS! Where are the online episodes at least? Really makes me mad these network idiots. Blllalallallah!
96. Jinx and Trick Daddy | January 4th, 2007 at 7:06 am
I had been waiting and wondering why Daybreak wasn’t on. My husband said he heard from work that it had been canceled! I waited a couple weeks giving it a chance to come on again. I didn’t want to search on line to see if it had been canceled. However, after waiting I asked jeeves, and to my disappointment indeed it had been canceled! I REALLY enjoyed that show…damn I wish they would have given the ratings more time to build…Hello during thanksgiving and christmas seasons, ur asking for it to fail!….damn I hope CW picks it up or something!
97. Nicole | January 4th, 2007 at 10:17 am
I completely agree with “THINKING MAN’S SHOW”! It was one of the only shows that is not mind numbing and you actually have to pay attention to the plot. The writing was suberb and left me on the edge of my seat every week! The lack of integrity of TV makes people dumb…which is why I don’t watch it…except for the occasional show like DayBreak! Networks tend to create brainless TV to try and keep us brainless…such a waste! I’m literally going through DAYBREAK WITHDRAWAL…I never write on blogs or threads…but here I am..that should tell you something right there!!
98. Steve | January 4th, 2007 at 11:35 am
Daybreak was one of the best shows i’ve seen in along while. It makes you think, its exciting and keeps your interest through the whole show. I must admit starting the series in the middle of the Christmas season probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do for ratings but this is a great show. Talk about yanking the carrot out from under our nose, PUT IT BACK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;(……..
99. O'Shea | January 4th, 2007 at 12:33 pm
Dang, I came online just to find out when Day Break was going to be back on. I too thought it was a holiday hiatus. I don’t watch many dramas, but this one hooked me from the first episode. I’m crossing my fingers some other network will pick it up or that ABC will consider running it during the summer. Something….ANYTHING..other than just leaving us hanging.
100. LadyG | January 4th, 2007 at 12:46 pm
I’m with O’Shea, I came on line to see when the next episode of Daybreak was on - I haven’t missed an episode and I didn’t want too. I can’t believe it was canceled!!!! I WANT TO KNOW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN!! Arrrggg!
101. EvenstarF | January 4th, 2007 at 2:59 pm
Does anyone know of a site where maybe we can sign up for an announcement when (well IF) Daybreak eps are online? And what about the DVD? I got hooked on Windfall too and atleast we got a whole season of that!! I’m done picking up new shows (Windfall, Daybreak, Tru Calling…all the networks are guilty!!!)
102. candy | January 4th, 2007 at 4:31 pm
Why did they cancel this show. This was the best show since Alias. I hope they reconsider or at least tell us how this will end. ABC has got to do better. That was an excellent show. I missed the first episode but watched it online and was hooked. It keep me on my toes the entire show. ABC please reconsider because other than Desparate Housewives which is becoming truly desparate to watch I’m not sure anything else is worth watching. You made a big mistake on this one!!!
103. clemens | January 4th, 2007 at 6:38 pm
ABC better stop screwing over their audience or they are going to lose even more viewers. They hype the crap out these show “DayBreak” and “The Nine” get us hooked and then yank them off the air. I don’t trust them anymore-not going to invest my time on a new show no matter how much they hype it…
and as for “lost”-is it me or are they just making that crap up week to week?-there is no plan-I don’t believe it-that show blows now….that show was good and then they just got too many characters and too many loose ends…not enough resolutions.
104. romel | January 4th, 2007 at 7:17 pm
I cannot believe you took my favorite show off of the AIR. It kept me interested ever since I saw the first preview. I had been looking for Daybreak not realizing that it was taken off the AIR. Lost is not a good show and definitely not better than Daybreak. You have made a big mistake with this one. A few week ago I was able to view the episodes online. I tried today and they are nowhere to be found. What happened? Does anyone know where they are? ABC owes us an explanation. They appparently took it off because of American Idol will begin soon in this timeslot. I am a huge American Idol fan, but to cancel Daybreak was not right. I would cancel Ugly Betty or another show to find room for Daybreak. What happened in the remaining episodes/ Many of us would like to know. Please reconsider bringing it back.
105. GeorgeLopez Sucks | January 4th, 2007 at 8:36 pm
I cannot believe that DayBreak was cancelled. I, along with my three brothers, watched it for the consecutive weeks that it was on. I absolutely refuse to watch ABC, even if this does mean no LOST.
106. Kelly Le | January 4th, 2007 at 8:50 pm
I am very disappointed that you have cancelled Daybreak. I want to know what is going to happen. This is the best show on the air right now. ABC has made alot of people upset by cancelling this great show. They are going to loose alot of viewers if they keep cancelling shows. They make it difficult to get into a series. ABC needs to reconsider.
107. Grant Hileman | January 4th, 2007 at 10:38 pm
I’m sick of getting hooked on great shows like Daybreak and Kidnapped only to have them pulled of the air after 5 episodes. That is retarded.
I’m not going to watch any more primetime tv from ABC ,NBC, CBS, or Fox.
My new favorite channels are Discovery and the History channel.
Check out How It’s Made on Discovery.
From now on I will only be watching movies and old full season TV shows on DVD.
ABC just lost another loyal viewer.
108. virgo | January 4th, 2007 at 11:15 pm
Does anyone know how to cause ABC.com to get blasted with so much spam or denial of service attacks that their website goes down and replaced with a banner that says we want Day Break? This may be the only way that they get the message, and maybe their advertisers will take notice too.
109. honeydipp77 | January 4th, 2007 at 11:49 pm
I would like to say that daybreak wasone the best shows ever on ABC othre than Grey’s anatomy. we actually started a a dining divas cooking club just to coincide so we could all watch it together. ABC sucks
110. James | January 5th, 2007 at 5:58 am
To Whom It May Concern,
According to Jim, the American Inventor and Americas Funniest Home Videos are like The Bachelor. Our Big Day has not been Boston Legal. The Brothers and Sisters are not Dancing With the Stars. These Desperate Housewives need an Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. George Lopez saw Grey’s Anatomy so Help Me Help You In Case of Emergency. The Knights of Prosperity Lost Men in Trees. Also The Nine Notes from the Underbelly are Six Degrees off from the Supernanny Traveler destination. Ugly Betty wonders, What About Brian and his Wife Swap?
With all of these shows in Primetime, it sure would be nice if somehow you let us see the last episodes of Daybreak. Please give those of us who are left hanging some way to finish it. Thank you.
111. dee | January 5th, 2007 at 5:59 am
My husband and I are really upset that Daybreak has been canceled. That was the only show we made an effort to watched each week. The last time we found a show on one of the major non-cable channels was Falcone on CBS and that was canceled too. We’ll stick to cable.
112. Stephen | January 5th, 2007 at 7:27 am
This completely SUCKS!!!!!!!!! I hate ABC’s guts for this and will NEVER invest my time and attention into another new show of their’s again. I would also like to extend my hatred to all Neilson families. I mean who are these idiots anyway. Think about all the great shows that have been cancelled over the years due to what this small percentage of asswholes watch. Burn in hell ABC exec’s, BURN in HELL!!!!!!!!!!!
113. Leon Schwechter | January 5th, 2007 at 8:42 am
It is unbelievable that ABC can find a great show like this and not realize the ratings have to do with other that its quality or interest. The people that were watching it were hooked and now will be going thru withdrawal. they could have a great hit on their hands with better time slot and promotion. What a stupid way to kill a great investment!!!!!!!! ABC will never be #1 for long with decisions like this.
114. Nicole | January 5th, 2007 at 11:30 am
Please submit your comments to http://www.abc.com and select “Contact ABC” at the bottom of the website. Seriously, http://www.lostremote.com rocks…but we have to get our comments sent to the ABC and unless lostremote.com plans to print all of these comments and send them to ABC it’s pointless. If we all love this show so much, let’s complain to the right people. I’m so pissed at ABC and agree with everyone on here. I come on here everyday (due to DayBreak withdrawals), just so I know I’m not alone in my anger. I’ve written to ABC.com…please do the same…let’s make a difference!!!!

118. diane | January 6th, 2007 at 5:18 am
well, left a blurb with abc asking for a way to finish the series…maybe, just maybe, they’ll respond. wish me luck! hey, james…well said!!
119. Congruent1 | January 6th, 2007 at 2:31 pm
I really don’t watch much TV other than sports and 24. However, this show displayed intelligence and the characters were incredibly attractive, paricularly Taye’s girlfriend. I would love to find out what nationality she was … she was simply gorgeous. By the real reason I’m responding and this is something I don’t ordinarily do is the show displayed depth, it was entertaining, provocative and it just goes to show you that the Network executives @ ABC give the masses what they want and take off shows like Day Break which cause one to think (how awful can that be!)
120. Wontgetlost | January 6th, 2007 at 5:56 pm
This is just BAD. How can this happen??? Right in the middle of a mini-series???
Those of us who are smart enough to understand a show like this and not watch it while joking around about other things are just too outnumbered, too many non thinking types are what the networks are after and there’s just too many of them around.
How about Sci-fi’s “The Lost Room” for example. One of the BEST shows I’ve seen lately on TV. Another mini-series that at least got concluded, leaving room for a possible regular series but do you think that for one moment it’ll happen? Nope, the show was too cerebral.
You couldn’t watch it and read and do other things at the same time, so sadly, it’ll probably never see the air again.
And then there was Fox’s “Firefly”. What a GREAT show, but again, you had to WATCH it, not dope around while it was on, and most people don’t have that kind of attention span. Very sad for those of us who do because…
… we’re just too outnumbered by them.
With any luck, ABC will at least put this thing out on DVD soon. I’m just too cliffhanged.
Anything on ABC streaming the remaining 7 shows?
121. StarGateOps | January 7th, 2007 at 8:13 am
Taking Daybreak off is about the last ABC straw for me. The best shows on TV get cancelled so we can have more stupid Sit Coms. People in this country must be total idiots, I can’t even watch those shows. I’d rather watch my Dog Scratch and Bite and Snort and Sniff. And, I wouldn’t enjoy that if I were dead. So many great shows have bit the dust and been replaced with STUPID CRAP, What’s next, can’t believe Lost is still on and hasn’t been replaced by “Dingo, Life in the Doghouse”……It’s hard to even turn the TV on… Network exec’s must have a limited number of brain cells active at any given moment, very limited.
SGO
122. Max | January 7th, 2007 at 11:18 am
THIS REALLY SUCKS!! One of my favourite shows gone!!! And Prison Break and Heroes taking a break!!!!
123. Nichole | January 7th, 2007 at 7:48 pm
WHAT!! They cancled!!!! I was wondering why it hasn’t been comming on! Thats no not fair!! Who cares if it was hard to follow when u tune in from the middle!! Thats why you watch a show from the Pilot episodes!! OMFG!! Thats so messed up! They cant show a show that great and then just cancle it!! They should have though of a thing like that before they played 6 episodes. OMG I am so enraged. Now i have no way of seeing the other episodes!! There was only 13 episodes. You think thoes retards at acb would have atleast been considerate enough to play they other 7 episodes!!
124. mike | January 7th, 2007 at 9:26 pm
Well, someone wrote a perfect comment and then ended it by saying that ABC screwed up by taking Heroes off as well as Day Break. Heroes is on NBC and will be back in two weeks. Now, as for Day Break…The best show behind LOST. Put a GREAT show on a “break” and fill it with Day Break…At first I thought “oh great, this sucks…LOST is gone for three months!” But I watched Day Break from the beginning because it caught my eye. I was hooked in the first five minutes. Not a single show can keep you on the edge of your couch for the entire hour. Usually they can for a second or two maybe because they have to fill the show with useless dialogue to keep the show going for four to six seasons. This show did not need that. It had perfect dialogue and action to keep you informed and on the edge of your seat. ABC really screwed up.
I’m sure that this is a racist move. Taye Diggs was superb in this show and did a great job producing it as well (he was a producer of the show). But woe was him…He’s black. America can’t have a great show stealing prime time slots and viewers with an African American actor, so ABC pulls it before it gets too big. They claim it was viewers, but viewers turned off their tv, not because of Day Break but because LOST was taken from them and so they didn’t give Day Break a chance. Day Break should be given back to us. Release it on DVD or on iTunes or something…
And what’s this LIE that ABC pulled about Day Break being released online at ABC.com? It isn’t there…HMMMMM Go figure!!! What a bunch of LIARS!!!
125. Zach | January 7th, 2007 at 10:28 pm
I agree wit all of yall…. F Abc! Day Break was such a great show and they need to let us finish the season!
126. Claire | January 8th, 2007 at 2:33 pm
I am shocked that ABC would cancel Day Break. It was the only thing worth watching on Wednesday night. I can’t stand the sitcoms that the network has pushed into that time slot. Talk about dumbing down! The network needs to smarten up. What chimp(s) decided to pull the plug on Day Break?
Where are the episodes ABC was supposed to release online? I can’t find them.
ABC owes the viewers that rest of the Day Break season.
127. Ivette | January 8th, 2007 at 2:39 pm
They need to get rid of some of these stupid corny shows and bring back Daybreak.
128. LARRY | January 8th, 2007 at 5:35 pm
What is wrong with ABC? They have an AWESOME show that has AMERICA on end, and they cancel it. They could have said something to the FEW fans as they say. Why is it taking so long for them to put the remainder of the shows on the Internet? Am I the only one that wants to know who killed Garza?
129. - | January 8th, 2007 at 5:45 pm
No You are Not !!! Exactly where are they planning on streaming the last 7 episodes?????
130. karim | January 9th, 2007 at 4:01 am
omg! Day Break was fucking better then alot of shows which get aired on TV… put it back on please!!!
131. Tony R | January 9th, 2007 at 9:22 am
I can’t fucking believe this bullshit. I am not even an avid TV watcher and I found Day Break to be one of the better shows on the air and better may be understatement. Day Break ruled! I had my whole family go online stream all episodes just for these narrow minded ABC executive pricks to cancel the damn show. I am so fucking disappoint!
ABC PLEASE GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS AND PUT MY GOD DAMN SHOW BACK ON THE AIR!
132. need episodes | January 9th, 2007 at 4:29 pm
where can i find the episodes abc said they would post.
133. Jason | January 9th, 2007 at 5:33 pm
ABC needs to open their eyes and stop cutting the great shows. This was a great show to watch while waiting for LOST to come back on and they ruined it. Thanks alot!
134. anon | January 9th, 2007 at 9:53 pm
ok guys! if you’ve submitted a request to abc to keep daybreak on, hit reply and let us know. if not, go and do it!
let’s get some support for one of the best shows that was on television. at the very least - we should be able to watch the remaining episodes streaming.
135. Rols | January 10th, 2007 at 12:21 am
Just added nother request for Daybreak episodes online on ABC.com!
136. Michael J. Pleva | January 10th, 2007 at 2:03 am
I am with the rest of you. Get the episodes aired one way or the other. And stop using the Nielson ratings system. We are a different culture now with computers changing everything everyday. In today’s world you cannot get a good idea of who is watching and how many are watching based on a few families. Come up with a way to do the ratings through the cable line to show what shows are being watched the most.
And let’s be honest. Some of the most watched shows are the most boring. The Super Bowl is a great example. If the game sucks people stop watching but yet the ratings are supposedly awesome.
137. EvenstarF | January 10th, 2007 at 7:52 am
Just sent them a note asking to show rest of season or alteast post online!! Keep it up. MAYBE someone will get the message.
138. t-boy | January 10th, 2007 at 5:14 pm
Who are these nelson rating people? Are the same people who praise these stupid reality shows. ABC GET YOUR HEADS ON STAIGHT. Day Break is AWESOME, don’t leave us hanging like this!
139. robin s | January 10th, 2007 at 5:59 pm
I still cannot believe this has happened. for weeks you watch this show and now its gone.Whatever ass made this choice didnt give this show the chance it needed.
140. shdevin | January 10th, 2007 at 11:16 pm
I love Daybreak! When Lost was ending I was so bummed, but I watched Taye Diggs and Daybreak and we fell in love with the show. Please bring it back. The characters are so awesome. It’s entertaining and fun! Please bring back Daybreak!!!???
141. shdevin | January 10th, 2007 at 11:21 pm
ABC sucks for cancelling Daybreak! It’s new, it’s different, it’s not like anything else out there. Everybody loves it. People should really get new brains before they think about cancelling great shows! Duh!!!! How can we get more people to watch so we can see Taye again?
142. Corey | January 11th, 2007 at 12:01 am
Has anyone found the episodes online. This is the third year in a row ABC has done this to me. First it was Life as We know it and Blind Justice, then Invasion and now Daybreak. They screwed up badly and yes the Nielsen ratings sucks balls. I have been asked to do it three time and for what my shows never stay on. How many CSI need to be on air. How many extreme makeovers or nanny shows need to be on air. If the networks was smart they would have someone looking at these sites online but they aren’t. They don’t care. I hope we can get the final episodes and a DVD release. P.S. The Knights of Prosperity will be canceled soon so then what assholes.
143. Anya | January 11th, 2007 at 9:05 am
We have watched Daybreak from the very first episode. LOVED IT!!! Hopper and Andrea… what a great team!! Tried watcing the missing episodes at abc.com, NO LUCK! Such a great show , Fuck abc for not playing the missing ones , at least on line!!!!! Bring Daybreak back!!!

I wrote:
I understand your network canceled DayBreak. I am very disappointed as are a countless number of people. I am sure you do not care. I am also sure no one reads these messages. However, if by some chance this message is read I would like to find out when the remaining episodes will air online or be sent to DVD. There were only a few episodes left to find out what happened. It seems cruel to not give the viewers and ending. I look forward to your reply, although I am not expecting one.
145. amackay11 | January 11th, 2007 at 7:23 pm
My two cents….. Let us view the last episodes!! But i’m wondering…would the big mystery be resolved? If they made episode 13 as a season finale, there would be a big cliff hanger and no final resolution. At least 24 does a decent final show wrap-up.
146. whatthe*^&% | January 11th, 2007 at 9:45 pm
heroes is on nbc not abc, and invasion was on abc. Canceling daybreak was a mistake to the viewers. The network wont notice because they feel the loss. the mass viewers are dumb and need candy not brain food. which ruins it for any possible intelectual society. geez even japanese animation is deeper then anything on american television. Intellect will go the way of the dinosaur and the network will support it gladly. I me and the only channels that are out purily for intellectual entertainment (pbs) are under attack by networks and government and even have to defend there childrens show, from there network being taken over and turned to dumb food for no thought entertainment networks with no desire to give its viewers anything worth watching. You think these network execs watch there own shows, they wouldnt even let there kids watch. its trash tv. ” i’ll bye that for a dollar”.

Long Island Newsday has a small blurb i their tv section today that abc will be running the remaining episodes on line. however as of this hour there seems to be nothing on the abc site except for the 10 short videos they hv had on there promoting the show . Any one know if abc is going to run them or not ?
152. Jamie | January 13th, 2007 at 3:59 pm
WELL THAT SUCKS!!!
I figured ABC would at least finish the show it up… there was only 15 episodes. I dont understand why they couldn’t finish it up for the ones that DID watch it. Maybe if enough of us complain they will bring it back or at LEAST put it on DVD or something!!! Yeah they are putting the remaining shows on internet but i dont know about other people but its almost impossibe to watch things on my computer!! =( This is JUST REDICULOUS!!

Wow. Just ridiculous. Daybreak was a great show. I suppose next they’ll cancel Lost and not tell us. Why cancel a show that has a big mystery and have your audience begging for more? Just finish the darn season and let know how what was going on. Stream them online at least! It costs you next to nothing to do so!
158. amackay11 | January 15th, 2007 at 12:24 pm
I love it….you search http://www.abc.com for ‘daybreak’ and there are no results found. Its like the show never existed. Maybe it was all in our imagination?????
159. kimblex | January 16th, 2007 at 7:14 am
Ugh! Now I see that The Nine has been canceled also. Great! Two series with weird mysteries canceled in the middle of the darn story! ABC must hate me. HELLO ABC, I LIKE THESE SHOWS! But I must be in the minority. :_(
160. JM | January 16th, 2007 at 1:44 pm
This is great. I have fewer shows to watch, so I can
find something else to do with my time instead of waste
it watching lousy TV. From what I understand, today they
reported Lost will be wrapping up since the fans are
getting upset with the direction of the show. The Lost
writers have gotten Lost. I think this year I’m just going
to cut out most serials. I think I’ll keep 24, maybe watch
The Shield & give up on everything else.
Thanks, TV. For freeing up my time to do other things
than watch you.
161. Lukycharm | January 16th, 2007 at 2:28 pm
I think I will just stop watching shows until the season completes because I am tire od watching shows that get pulled so quickly. It doesn’t make sense. I guess it makes money sense, but it’s a bummer for the fans who invest time in a story just to have it not finish. Maybe they can finish it as a Motion Pic…
162. Boycott ABC | January 16th, 2007 at 7:02 pm
Well this is the last straw for me. ABC has cancelled too many shows that I started watching.
How friggin frustrating.
I’ve stopped watching boring LOST and all other ABC shows.
It’s really a good thing. I was lured back into watching TV by these new shows that were motion picture quality. But ABC instead prefers the sh*t shows like Wife Swap - a complete waste of my time.
Thanks ABC for giving my life back.
163. chaz | January 17th, 2007 at 3:39 pm
My wife and I were big fans of this show, and feel betrayed by ABC. They promised this thing would run every week until LOST came back on. They lied. I’m not watching anything ABC puts in that time slot. I may watch Lost again when it comes back on, but don’t make the weeks we invested in this show for naught. ABC, come to your friggin senses and stop alienating your loyal viewers, testing and ratings don’t always mean everything. What about following up on a vow to keep a show on the air? At least put the rest of the season on itunes!
164. jonathan | January 17th, 2007 at 8:54 pm
my goodness. how in the hell do you pulla show like that. I keep it real. it is becasue a black man was the lead of the show. that was ABC
165. Mike | January 18th, 2007 at 8:14 am
ok, so where are the links to get tot he rest of the episodes, do not leave us hanging here after you got us into the story
166. Steve | January 18th, 2007 at 11:30 pm
Figures, here’s another show I start watching that gets canned… First Firefly, then Blade, now Daybreak. I swear, these TV execs are a bunch of fools! You’ve already shot the entire season, just air it! Oh wait, they want to bring out the new reality show “Who wants to marry my uncles second cousin who works in a circus?”… my bad…
167. Ugh | January 19th, 2007 at 2:01 pm
The sad fact of the matter is that there are millions of morons out there whose lives suck so bad that they have to live vicariously through “reality TV”….So, the networks cancel good shows and opt for more food for the morons. Unfortunately, the morons outnumber us. *sigh*
168. diane | January 21st, 2007 at 6:04 am
well, as I’m sure you can guess…abc never got back to me except for an automated blurb stating they are too busy. i’m done with it. think I’ll read a book!!! hey, maybe there’s a book out there called ‘daybreak’!!!!
169. Brian | January 22nd, 2007 at 3:52 pm
hey just got time over lunch today to watch two episodes of daybreak. i also thought it was wierd that my dvr was not catching and taping it. then i also found out it was cancelled. I read that had poor ratings, so what, what about all us fools that just waisted hours of our life, watching the first episodes of daybreak, then ya leave us hangin!! wow, u r great abc. way to go!!!! Daybreak had some great actors and action. After a few shows, I was hooked, now what. It is hard enough on us to get into these new stupid shows the way it is, then u have a good one and get rid of it. How about some more good old school comedy shows. Not much of those either anymore besides “according to jim” That is one good show!!!!!! well i guess i’ll quit gripin, will not do anygood anyway. thanks from Daybreak watcher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
170. TRISH | January 23rd, 2007 at 5:06 pm
JUST FOUND OUT BEGINNING 1/29 DAYBREAK WILL START AIRING ON ABC.COM (WE WILL SEE IF THEY ARE LYING OR NOT)
171. Ivan R. | January 23rd, 2007 at 5:15 pm
I agree with everyone here. Daybreak was a great show that was different than the rest. What, ABC can’t handle a show where the guy isn’t a punk, and doesn’t resort to clever wit and snappy comebacks to deal with difficult situations?
Taye was the man, and the show was awesome. Instead they play shows like “In case of emergency”. It’s a shame because it was nice to see an actor like Taye in such a good role. There aren’t enough of them.
I hope Taye got a good deal on DVD sales. I suspect people will flock to buy it.
172. T-Bo | January 23rd, 2007 at 6:41 pm
Dang that sucks. I loved Kidnapped, NBC bags it. I like this shyow, ABC pulls it. They should put shows like this on cable, cable rules!
173. Fred Smith | January 24th, 2007 at 11:54 am
I found the pace on ABC’s site where the remaining episodes are supposed to be but the are only available for viewing from US locations. Living in Canada I cannot see them. Has anyone found torrents or other sources for these episodes?
174. Trae | January 27th, 2007 at 6:02 pm
never watched it
but atleast the didnt pull lost
175. Rose | January 29th, 2007 at 8:18 am
Don’t say one thing and then do another. I hope and for all the rest of the DayBreak fans out there that it’s shown online!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
176. DayBreak Viewer | January 29th, 2007 at 9:15 pm
5 new episodes available for online viewing. ABC, you were stupid to cancel, but at least you’re not stranding your viewers. Thanks for putting the episodes online.
177. yargh | January 30th, 2007 at 12:30 am
This was a great show. ABC definitely needs to reconsider it’s decision.
178. DayBreak Viewer | January 30th, 2007 at 9:28 pm
Make that 4 new episodes.
EXCELLENT STUFF!!! 3 down one to go for tomorrow night.
Sad that this will be the one and only season of this great show. Only the good die young!
179. Help! | January 31st, 2007 at 5:40 pm
Where are you finding the episodes? Can’t find them on ABC. Am I in the wrong place?
180. DayBreak Viewer | January 31st, 2007 at 7:15 pm
Click on the link on my name.
181. silkcut | February 1st, 2007 at 2:24 pm
for those living outside US that want to watch the show online - you can install trial version of the program Anonymizer, which makes abc homepage into thinking that you are indeed in US (it’s a “proxy” thing)
182. Erni | February 1st, 2007 at 7:54 pm
well go figure abc’s site will only allow americans to view the final episodes… GG ABC no canuck love >_
183. R | February 3rd, 2007 at 11:33 pm
I can’t believe this. Daybreak was easily one of the best new shows I’ve seen on TV in a long time. I was as hooked as I was with the first season of LOST.
What seems so ridiculous is that they advertised this show like crazy leading up to its premiere and that got me to watch it, but then I never saw another add for it EVER. I’m no TV-aholic, but I watch it enough that I should have seen more ads for this show. I certainly saw enough leading up to the premiere.
If ABC had any sense, they’d stream ALL the episodes online, and advertise that they are there in more commercials for the show. That way people could catch up and then join the season. They should also stop this stupid filter that only allows people in the US to stream the episodes. How dumb is it to alienate entire countries from being able to watch your show?
They should also start counting internet viewership in ratings, cause this show seems to be a mad hit with internet viewers. I was never around on Wednesday nights and couldn’t watch the show at the stupid ABC site because I’m in Canada, so I had to resort to torrent downloads to be able to see the show, and it seems to be a big hit in that community too.
I think I’ve heard it said that for every person who bothers to write something publicly about what they think, there are a thousand more who think it but don’t bother to write. Even if we trim that number down from a thousand to hundred, the 183 comments on this page (including mine) would represent 18,300 people that are thinking the same thing … and that’s just based on this one page. If we used the thousand figure, our comments would represent 183,000 that are thinking the same thing … again based just on this one page. That’s something to think about.
184. Fletcher | February 5th, 2007 at 9:37 am
Jeeeez, I’ve been waiting for daybreak to come back. Now I see it got canceled. It was by far the best new show on. I guess I won’t need to watch tv on wednesdays anymore this season. ABC, put it back on the air on fridays instead of showing reruns of other shows.
185. Gis | February 6th, 2007 at 12:07 am
Just watched episode 11 What If He Walks Away, great stuff, unfortunately I knowing that there are only two more episodes after this, it really took away much of the enjoyment of the show. This goes on a whole different story arc from the one concluded in What If He’s Free, which took 10 episodes to conclude, so I’ve got mixed feelings when I watched today’s episode. I just don’t think that two more episodes will be enough to conclude this complex story.
PS: Shame on you ABC!
186. danrbn | February 6th, 2007 at 3:12 pm
I cannot believe you can do this.
That was the first show I really got into in a long time.
Very Dissapointed.
187. DayBreak Viewer | February 6th, 2007 at 10:24 pm
I thought “What if he walks away” was one of the weaker episodes, but hopefully it is setting up a couple of great ones. Hopper now has to unravel the final mystery and topple the ringleaders and get the GF back. According to all the advertisements, the story will resolve by the end of the 13th episode (with probably a lose end or two left open for a next season that will never happen). Enjoy the short but fun ride over the next couple weeks!
188. stevey jones (GOD) | February 7th, 2007 at 3:57 pm
If u go on tv-links.co.uk you can watch 10 of the episodes of daybreak and the final 3 will come soon, yes i know i am a genius
189. Mich | February 12th, 2007 at 4:28 pm
Just watched the new episode that went up today. Just a warning that the segments are all out of order. It was quite confusing watching it.
190. DayBreak Viewer | February 12th, 2007 at 6:01 pm
The later segments were out of order, but it all made sense to me in the end. You learn Rita’s secret and who the top villian is. Setting up a great finale. Hope they get the segments right next week!
191. obie | February 14th, 2007 at 2:36 pm
It’s canceled that sucks!!! This is a great show. The major networks know how to hurt the real viewers. They need to bring it back or sell the rights to FX or Sci-fi channel.
192. Ken | February 14th, 2007 at 11:32 pm
This show is by far the best since 24 and Lost. I’m watched every episode…are we sure they’re putting up 13? Like someone mentioned, I hope SciFi or FX picks it up.
Has ABC ever made an official statement about taking this of the air?
193. Carla | February 15th, 2007 at 4:00 pm
I can’t believe that they cancelled Daybreak it was the first show my husband and I actually watched together and he never watches TV but he really enjoyed this show!!! ABC is making a big mistake taking this show off the air!!!! And it was actually GOOD!!!
194. john | February 19th, 2007 at 3:59 pm
why is the finale not on???????????????????????
195. jason | February 19th, 2007 at 6:27 pm
anyone know when the finale goes up?? I thought it was Monday?
196. Jessica | February 19th, 2007 at 8:19 pm
does anybody know where I can get the complete season hate that I was left hanging and really irritated by the continued dumb ass reality shows that are on every channel DAYBREAK was actually worth the watch
197. Debbie | February 19th, 2007 at 8:37 pm
So glad they put Daybreak online. As a very busy mother of 6 this is the ONLY program that I made time to watch and was really sorry to see it get pulled off the air. I was really hoping to watch the FINALE today. Does anyone know when they are going to put it out on abc.com?
198. Sean Tubbs | February 21st, 2007 at 8:33 am
The finale is still not on. I had an hour of downtime, and was planning to watch it. I’ve really enjoyed watching this online, and applaud ABC for doing so. I’d like to know more about how many people did watch it this way. Was it a success? Was ABC able to make any money off of it?
199. Chris | February 21st, 2007 at 8:58 am
WHERE’S the FINALE?????????????????? I am SO addicted to this show and want to know how it ends. Are they doing this to me on purpose? Are they really trying to build up the anticipation to cliff hanger? OK it WORKED…..GIVE ME MY FINALE!!!! I WANT MY DAYBREAK FINALE!!! HELLO….ABC….ARE YOU LISTENING????
200. John | February 21st, 2007 at 2:32 pm
I read somewhere that they delayed the release date
until Febraury 29. No explanation as to why, just a
line of information.
Great show. The streaming thing isn’t good though.
It is like watching a three inch tv.
201. John | February 21st, 2007 at 2:33 pm
sorry for the typo..
should have been Feb 26 (next Monday)
202. Holly | February 21st, 2007 at 9:41 pm
I am going to be so upset if they don’t make the final episode available online! I was totally bummed out to see that it wasn’t there. I have been totally addicted to this show and I still can’t beleive they took it off the air. What were they thinking?!?!
203. Skweez | February 22nd, 2007 at 9:47 am
I, like everyone esle can’t wait to see the series finale. I hope it’s on by 2/26. It should have been on this past Monday.
204. Debbie | February 23rd, 2007 at 8:04 pm
Just checked out the abc.com website…AGAIN. They FINALLY updated it. It now states that the finale will be released on Tuesday, 2/27/07….it didn’t say what time it will be available. I can’t wait!! I think it was a really great show and still don’t understand why abc cancelled it. It was some of the better programming they offered!!
205. Debbie | February 26th, 2007 at 11:02 am
Ok….now the website says that they will release the Daybreak Finale on Wed, Feb 28. OK ABC….Isn’t it bad enough that you pulled the show? Do you have to keep toying with those of us who are trying to finish out this great series? BTW….you have COMPLETELY lost my trust. I will no longer make time to watch ANY of your new Series….You have burned me way too many times now!! And now that I on that subject, why don’t you start testing your pilots ONLINE? Then you will know for sure whether a show will be successful or not….just track your download & hits!! Don’t you think that would beat your video mailouts & screenings that are sent out to a limited audience with no life? JMHO!!! (just my humble opinion)
206. serena | February 27th, 2007 at 1:02 am
OMG, I have been going crazy checking every monday for new episodes as promised!!! THIS was THE best show of the season and I can’t believe they cancelled it and are now putting it up sooo half assed:(
Does anyone know if they forsure made a SERIES ending or is it just the season ending with nothing resolved and perminent in the air?
207. Gini | February 27th, 2007 at 4:17 pm
Dang! I found this show last night online and it is AMAZING! I can’t belive it’s cancelled…. so bummed now.
208. Anonymous | February 28th, 2007 at 6:37 pm
Where’s the finale? Just post the last episode. You have made the faithful Daybreak viewers wait long enough! We want to see how the story is resolved!!
209. brendan | February 28th, 2007 at 7:06 pm
I tried contacting them as to why the delay in airing the last episode, but no one will even acknowledge a delay.
It’s very odd, b/c they posted the previous episodes every Monday morning up until the finale…and then just stopped. They also updated the info on the site with a new Release date 3 times. So it does seem like they are toying with us.
GREAT SHOW! So disappointed in ABC, but it happens more and more the last few years.
210. Scott | February 28th, 2007 at 8:28 pm
I agree, post the final episode. ABC really sucks and I finally realize how NBC continues to out rank them, NBC does not treat the viewers (you know, the think that makes your very existance) like this… EVER!
P.S. ABC, why don’t you run another episode of AFV or According to Jim, or repeats of Grey’s. Your pathetic!
211. Samuel | February 28th, 2007 at 9:26 pm
Just checked the ABC site and it now says that they will post the final episode sometime this week. It was the 28th just this morning if I’m correct. Hopefully they’ll really put it for us to watch so that we can have some closure on the series. It was a great show that made you think.
Does anyone remember Nowhere Man with Bruce Greenwood. Day Break has/had that kind of mood to it. Nowhere Man was another great show that go cut. It however never got a finale. Hopefully Day Break will.
212. Skweez | March 1st, 2007 at 8:22 am
This is so terrible…. And broadcast networks wonder why cable has gained so much ground…. I used to be a LOST watcher but i’m thinking about bailing due to the treatment of ABC….
213. matt | March 1st, 2007 at 4:31 pm
ABC is a joke.
1st they don’t post the shows weekly as promised.
2nd we got a lump of shows then a delay.
3rd the finale is nowhere to be found.
4th it’s not there on 2/26 as previously posted,
5th it’s not up on 2/27 as posted on 2/26.
Who knows when they’ll get around to it.
At least they’re consistent.
214. brendan | March 2nd, 2007 at 5:28 pm
Well it definitely looks like they are playing around for some reason. When I checked early today there was no show and the site just said:
Premiering this week
only on ABC.com
“What If It’s Him”
But when I checked back a short time ago it said:
Premiering today 3/2
only on ABC.com
“What If It’s Him”
However, it is now late on a Friday and the show isn’t up…and they way they have dealt with it up until now…I would be SHOCKED if they work on it now or over the weekend.
Lets hope they put it up soon…and do what you can to avoid ABC in the future…I know I will!
215. MJ | March 2nd, 2007 at 5:43 pm
The finale is finally posted! Hope it was worth the wait… ENJOY!
216. Stewart | March 2nd, 2007 at 6:49 pm
Why the fuck would they cancel Day Break??!
Its not even had a chance over in the UK yet.
Im totally gutted about it!
any petitions??
ABC = Ballbags!!!
217. DA | March 2nd, 2007 at 8:16 pm
You must watch the finale episode (now posted) before reading this!
What a joke. The season ends with very few answers and in fact opens up new questions. Who was that guy? And what happened with Chad? I wan’t another season!!!
218. skweez | March 2nd, 2007 at 9:04 pm
I just watched the finale and can not understand why they would wait so long to put up this garbage. First off, I think the dude at the end was the dude that was supposed to have had his day repeat like Hopper’s. But then he went to speak with that doctor. But more importatntly, can someone tell me why his day was repeating to begin with?
219. fill | March 3rd, 2007 at 2:46 am
DA, that gut at end of the finale was dr Forasz from episode 7, apparently he was responsible for Hopper reliving his day, but yeah what did happen to Chad and that other guy that actually killed Garza?
220. DayBreak Viewer | March 3rd, 2007 at 7:21 am
Just watched the final episode.
I thought it would have been a better as a 2 hour finale so that the resolutions to so many story lines were not rushed. But overall I thought it was quite good. The courthouse ambush scene was classic! No major surprises IMO.
You know they had to leave a couple doors open for the next season (like Chad and Corbin) - a next season that won’t ever happen.
Have to say I enjoyed this show. Too bad it was canceled. Will be watching 24 and the final season of Stargate SG-1.
221. Chris | March 5th, 2007 at 8:04 am
Glad I found this comment thread - I was wondering who the guy at the end was as well. Now that someone mentioned it I agree that it was Jared - the guy that was reliving the same day.
I guess he got his act together and is happy that he has found tomorrow as well?
I guess the “cliffhanger” type stuff was meant for if the series had another season? Was there going to be a DIFFERENT day relived next season perhaps? Overall a good series, glad we got to see the rest online.
222. Tom | March 9th, 2007 at 12:34 pm
I’m glad to see this comment thread is still going.
ABC is nuts . . . first they canceled The Nine, then DAYBREAK, and now its Knights of Prosperity. Now, I loved Daybreak the most - but those other shows were decent too. Knights was actually quite funny, it just took about six episodes to ‘get’ the humor. I made my wife watch the last episode with me and we were both dying of laughter.
I’ve emailed ABC too and told them that I refuse to watch any new show they put on . . . I’m tired of getting interested and then having it pulled. Why advertise at all for new shows if they are just going to pull them when they are doing good.
And HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN GOING ON?? I remember loving the show “the Mole” - before they screwed it up and tried to put so called “Celebrities” on it. That show was awesome! They pulled that one too - mid-season - to put on crappy “America’s Funniest Videos” . .. what a joke!
Get a clue ABC - and don’t bother calling me when you do . . . I’m not watching anymore!
223. David | March 9th, 2007 at 1:07 pm
Where are the episodes? I went to ABC and it says some dumb@$$ message about Ad data not available..? WTF
224. stevey jones | March 22nd, 2007 at 1:55 pm
IF YOU WANT TO WATCH DAYBREAK THEN U SHOULD GO TO TV-LINKS.CO.UK IT HAS DAYBREAK LOST 24 AND IT HAS LOADS OF NEW FILMS ON SO IT IS REALLY KOOL
225. Alex | March 31st, 2007 at 7:17 pm
Dude this is so wrong! Why don’t we see daybreak anymore? gimme a break. I mean if ur gonna cut a show off the network at least tell us ur movin it so it could be seen online! GOSH!
226. Michelle | May 14th, 2007 at 1:15 pm
Just finished watching Daybreak online last night. I really want a second season now. I wonder if it could get picked up by another network.
227. Steve | June 2nd, 2007 at 8:45 pm
Just finished watching all 13 episodes on the internet in the last week or so. What were the TX execs thinking? This show could only loose viewers unless it was rerun from episode 1 several times as most people won’t get it unless they’ve seen all the episodes from the begining. But the show is very good, though the writing is a bit heavy at times and could be much tighter especially as it relates to Victoria Pratt’c character Andrea, as her willingness to assist Hopper is not always believable. The cast though is phenomonal. Taye Diggs is a great lead. This show seems like it would do great on the SciFi channel for a second season. It would have a built in loyal audience that will only grow with the webisode availability.
228. Tonio | July 9th, 2007 at 5:36 am
I recorded the first 5 or 6 eps on my DVR, before canceling the show. This was back in November and December of 06. I JUST WATCHED THEM ALL THIS WEEKEND (for the first time). It was great! The show was fantastic. Damn network execs ! Glad they didn’t wash completely in stupidity by not making the shows available online.
229. hiutopor | September 17th, 2007 at 11:05 am
Hi all!
Very interesting information! Thanks!
Bye
230. ukdanik | October 7th, 2007 at 9:33 pm
wow there are many fans of daybreak who actually searched it for somewhere else to watch but found this site only to fint out that it was canclled. Abc should put it back up…
231. Jim | November 5th, 2007 at 11:33 pm
I saw all of the shows, except fo the last four minutes of the finale. Could someone tell me what happened after Hopper met with the lawyer that told him to look into family friends for asnwers to his father’s death?
Thanks.
