It has more to do with the fact that the video is hilarious, well-written and shot, and has a very catching tune. I'm sorry for the confusion and I'm glad that there's an official version also on YouTube. I know that I sometimes scour CBS' YouTubes to get a sample of their Ferguson's that I've missed. I wonder how many people watch a "Late, Late Show" clips on Youtube, actually go to the official site to watch the full monologue and I wonder how many times the SNL skit has been played from NBC's site and how much that would increase the stats.
