Cellphone video is first of Saddam’s body
Steve Safran December 30th, 2006
Video of Saddam Hussein’s body, shot on a cellphone, is apparently the first to show him after his death. CNN has posted the video that is from Shiite Iraqi channel Biladi TV. While not verified by CNN or other sources, the video does indeed appear to be legitimate. (Screengrab below.)

His execution should not have been taped, we do what he has done to thousands, we have denied him his self dignity, they taunted him at his last moments…..if we are to do what he has done and have followed in his steps we are not any better……

i just saw the cell phone video of his hanging…. it’s macabe and disguisting. barbarism in the 21st century. how could bush consider himself a man of god when he and president cheney have caused so many thousands of deaths. iraq was a lie - and more con tinue to die… no wmd’s no connection whatsoever to 9-11. violence begets more violence. look at the atrition provided apartied in south africa - a far more enlightened approach… but today - it’s a very sick era we live in…

News agencies should show the video of this criminal and what he suffers. He killed thousands of people and got his just rewards.

Good Day,
Yet the media will show U.S. soldier’s bodies being dragged through the streets of Mogadishu and desecrated. Or other theaters orf war for that matter. Why is this? I think we all know the answer already. Anyone remember the film out of the Vietnam war of the prisoner being assasinated with a shot to the head?

Look, if I wanted censorship of any kind, I would move to Iran. I do not believe in Censorship in any form whatsoever. Censorship is the beginning of oppression, and we all know where that leads. BAN CENSORSHIP!

Was not the Jews fault..how do yo figure Arab… just like the other idiots in the arab country…blame someone else. Why do they go ballistic when someone bashes the Karan, qaran, or however you spell that piece of sh*t. I have 4-5 myself, next to my toilet that is… paper inside comes in handy…how’s that. I agree..Pay Per View, then give the money to the families that Sodamn ruined….

It’s getting off topic, I believe pete was insulting saddam, not the muslims, so Arab, stop translating American Cowboy-isms as racial slurs. Muslim radical fundamentalism, leads to comments like Dave’s. Hatred is a cycle… Keep this in mind when you readily threaten america, we posess the largest nuclear stockpile in the world save perhaps russia… If we really hated islam, Im sure we’d start by making mecca a place you couldnt go, thus theoretically damning you to hell. That aside, dont hate us, we only want your oil. When its gone, we’re gone. Got it? good.

this mass murderers hanging should have been shown to all the world & people of iraq & the midle east as a deterent, that no matter how long it takes the rights of people should not be interfered with as this animal did so to so many.

The showing of the MARTYDOM of Saddam shows that all these so called westernised liberals are just 18th century pagans…….waiting eagerly for the next public hanging. All those WITCH HUNTING PAGANS have no humanity. This was not justice. This was ATTEMPTED REVENGE on the Sunni’s by the Shia scum. But it BACKFIRED because Saddam is now in everyones heart & prayers. x

Saddam was a hero, and always will be. he dared to stand up to the Zionist and the zionist supporters. He would always be remembered. may god bless him and grant him paradise.

What a crock that last comment is! Saddam will be remembered for one thing. Killing innocent people. Straight to hell Saddam. Straight to hell.

What I see is that the death of one man stirs emotion from every angle. Some feel hate, some feel sadness, some are angered and want to find someone to blame. In the end, this man was just a man who started out with good intentions and implemented great ideas to further the iraqie people in their ability to be ‘counted’ on this earth. When Saddam first came into power, he provided education for the youth to study abroad and provided funds for the families of those students who were bright enough to be chosen to study abroad. What happened was perhaps greed, an overdose of feeling powerful, or maybe the influence of bad advisers who helped feed saddams hatred toward those of other tribes. In the end, he lost his vision for his overall people and became an oppressor and quite possibly developed some mental illness that would account for his bizzarre paranoid thinking. All I have just stated can be and I am sure will be debated for sometime to come. What is true however, is that we, as a civilized society, should NEVER find joy at the site of another human being losing their life — no matter who it is.
Thank-you.

neck snapped at drop, dead, no apparent struggle, quick done with death, hurt too many innocents to warrant a second thought

human nature makes us beg not to get a parking ticket, or beg the girlfriend not to walk out, or beg the boss not to sack us , we all have fears in our souls , this man knows he will be dead in ten seconds, does he have any fear? he looked even stronger than when he was surrounded by his bodyguards . those insects of men who were taunting him, those are the same people who were claping so hard for him when he was in power . Its not in the Hyenas nature to eat a live lion. I hate this man but I must admit ” a dead lion beter than a live dog ” is he real?

well you have to consider,in arabic society, people like saddam are actually more powerful dead than alive. you know, that whole martyrdom thing..

anyone who has a problem with this video should do a search and watch the beheading of nick berg, an innocent man trying to help the people of Iraq, captured, and then punished for being American by having his head sawed off with what appears to be a large kitchen knife. There was no shroud to protect his neck from bruising and the screams as his throat was slit still chill me. Its time the Iraqi people step up and run the insurgents from their land, or they should be left alone to suffer the result of not wanting the Americans there. Saddam may have started out as a saviour, but as all the people in this country seem to be, he eventually showed his true self as a brutal, racist. America should leave today and allow them to kill each other, and then let the other countries in the area divide up the land. We get most of our oil from Canada now so why bother.
