I am a hard worker, reliable, and honest. I strive for excellence. I do not drink, smoke, or use drugs. I enjoy working with computers, but also like to be active. I also like working outside, yes, even in Houston heat. Ares that include animals or plants are a plus. Although I am not fluent I have spent the past several years working in a Spanish speaking community and can communicate on a limited basis. I also have an excellent driving record.
Computer Operator / Graphics
I have 10 + years of computer experience, 5 + in graphics development. I have used Windows 1995 – 2003, including Windows XP and XP Professional. I have experience with Access, Excel, and some Power Point. My experience includes e-mail, internet, touch screen, web cams, lap tops, digital photography, and various programs.
Machines include printers and scanners, 10 key, Fax, Copiers, Linx s-10, HP Draft Master II Plotter.
Programs include Print Artist, Key Applications, Corel, Scanvec, Microsoft Office, photo programs, and digital photography.
Office and Administrative
I touch type 40-50 wpm, 10 Key add, various office machines, Some experience with DOS. I have worked in small offices of one or two people. Answer phones, Customer Services, cash flow bookkeeping, filing, inventory maintenance, parts and supplies locating, and general office managing. Problem solving.
Sales and Retail
I have 20+ years in sales and retail. Everything from convenience store operation to department store retail. 2+ years of direct sales and some phone sales. Waitressing included hostess, customer relations, sales were a must and full service. Inventory control and maintenance and logging. In the salvage yard I had to develop my own system and files. Salvage yard experience also required some knowledge of vehicle sales and products.
Management, Trainee, Trainer
My experience also includes some management and training of other people into my area of expertise. In waitressing I became the trainer of my store. This included taking new hires and not only training them to wait tables, but also to use computers and maintain the restaurant. In high school I became CO of girls’ rifle team and Field Marshall over all rifle teams, boys and girls, regardless of grade level. In the automotive business I was over mechanics. I needed knowledge of automobiles and had to keep the peace.
Inventory
I have 5 + years experience with inventory logging and maintenance. Some department and grocery and the past 5 years in automotive. Salvage yard requires licensing and bonding as well as more knowledge of products. I also had to create my own system.
Animals and pets
I have had some form of pet all my life. Currently I have a rescued dog. In high school I worked at a neighborhood veterinarian and a local pet shop after school and weekends. At the active age of 13 to 16 yrs. I was paid in some cash and a lot of pets, all kinds. I currently aid in the maintenance of my current job’s Rottweiler, mostly diet maintenance with the occasional injury due to environment and basic yearly booster shots. (I work closely with a feed store.) I have recently become active in the relocation of a pack of coyotes in my neighborhood from and area that is scheduled for clearing. I also have a growing flock of Zebra Finches.
Education
I have a high school diploma from Woodrow Wilson high School in Dallas. A general degree that included military, ROTC, CO of Girls’ Corp and Field Marshall of all Rifle Teams. I also attended Miss Wades School of Fashion for cosmetic and modeling.
Community Active
If I find a problem I do what I can to fix it. In High School I took part in establishment and development of Girls’ Rifle Team and Drill Squad. I try to stay active in local government. I worked to form a group to develop a Neighborhood Watch due to gang activities and have recently worked to add better traffic enforcement at a dangerous intersection in my neighborhood. I also help 2 elderly home bound neighbors on an as needed basis.
Hobbies and interests
Photo journaling is high on my list, animal and weather pics mostly. Ethnic cooking and vegetarian cooking have become a specialty. I diagnose and make repairs to my own vehicle and enjoy racing, my own car.
