Yahoo Local search coming to a car near you

Yahoo Local is teaming with Dash Navigation to provide in-vehicle local search. The device (below) will operate off a cellular link — or Wifi when available — and will allow drivers to search for, say a restaurant, based upon the car’s location. “It really is a new implementation of mobile search,” says Peter MacDonald, senior director of business development for Yahoo Local. “People need to find information about local businesses and what’s around them not just when they’re at their PC.” (WSJ sub. required)
