premier broadcasters: NBC, Cox Broadcasting, Hearst-Argyle, The
McGraw Hill Companies, Post-Newsweek, Scripps Howard, and Capitol
Broadcasting Company.

With over 13 million monthly visitors, over 500 million monthly page
views, and the #1 TV station web site in 18 of the top 25 markets,
Internet Broadcasting is the nation’s largest online local news
publisher. The company is headquartered in Minneapolis with offices
in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

PRODUCT MANAGER - User Generated Content (UGC) , req #005-07

At a high level, the product management team works on network driven
products and is responsible for defining the product roadmap and
vision, developing product ideas and plans, working with many
functions and outside vendors to develop the best products possible
to meet our viewers and advertisers needs. Our goal is to access UGC
tools from an outside vendor, integrate them into our sites, and
facilitate their usage at the stations to drive traffic growth and
support network sales growth.

The product manager’s role will include both setting the direction
for the product as well as implementing the product plans. This
include working with our technical and production teams to define
product specifications, interviewing/working with vendors, creating
communication materials for station partners and analyzing customer
and consumer trends for growth. With UGC, the manager will also
develop of “best practice” content and measurement of results so
we can share these best practices with stations and facilitate
adoption.

Responsibilities:

· Product:

o Work with vendor to set up working relationship and terms of
engagement on pricing/behavior (contracts). Then once agreed, work
with vendor to integrate their tools into the systems of IB

o Work with design to mock up, potentially research and integrate
tools on our site.

o Work with IB tech team through a project manager to define
requirements and launch on a timely basis (4/1/07).

· Promotion:

o Facilitate adoption with station partners: Develop content best
practices. Measure results. Communicate product and service value
propositions to stations and train them on use of tools (working with
training).

o There will likely be a promotion element as well – develop promos
that support these products, test on air with stations and/or using IB
GRPs. Gather input from partners to better meet their needs.

· Customers:

o Integrate advertising onto UGC pages. Interface with
sales/customers and partners to understand system requirements and
resolve issues.

· Category:

o Understand the business/technical situation: evaluate competitive
offerings. Understand category and channel dynamics. Improve our
knowledge of consumer behavior. Work with the organization to carry
out business analysis and research as needed.

Requirements:

· Knowledge about IB systems

· Knowledge about IB content

· Knowledge about working with TV stations and how to facilitate
adoption of products and new content ideas.

· Understand the industry and drive toward UGC. Understand
competitors’ offerings, market trends and high value offerings for
our viewers

· Ability to develop the product strategy, including priorities of
tools, specific features and content of our UGC products.

· Solid vendor relations. Ability to act as liaison between company
and vendor/agency, negotiating terms and managing the relationships on
behalf of the company.

· Create business cases and P&Ls for new products and services (ex.
video)

· Ensure that products meet quality, cost, delivery, and feature
requirements

· Assist in the definition and prioritization of product
requirements in light of corporate priorities, marketing and
technical requirements and development resources

· Understand internal business unit requirements for all products by
working with Marketing, Finance, Sales, Client Services, Operations
and Technology

· Serve as a product expert in educating the sales force, internal
teams and partners about product capabilities and demonstration of
value and other duties as assigned

· Maintain overall P&L management of product line

Qualifications:

· Experience in product management preferred

· Experience working in IB system or a strong understanding of this
industry is required

· Necessary experience working in software product management
environment

· Bachelor’s degree required. Prefer technical, content or
marketing background.
