DirecTV unveils Sat-GO
Cory Bergman January 7th, 2007
In essense, it’s a satellite TV receiver in a box. Weighing 25 pounds with a price tag of $1,000-1,300, DirecTV’s new Sat-Go will allow subscribers (at $4.99 a month) to watch live programming on camping trips or RV treks. And you’ll never guess who came up with the idea: 65-year-old Rick Rosner, the creator of “CHiPs” and “Hollywood Squares.”

You can already put a dish on your RV. I guess this could be for people who camp enough to spend $1000 on a mobile satellite TV but don’t camp enough to get an RV. Or for serious campers who think an RV spoils the camping experience, but think the one thing camping is missing is satellite TV.

Many thanks in anticipation,

You can only get Directv in north america leagally, although you could pick up the signal in Mexico. It is impossible to get Directv in africa, the whole “line of sight” thing, the earth is kinda in the way.

How well can one expect the Sat-Go to work while in motion (like in a vehicle)?
