Job Description:

The Project Manager 1 will coordinate rapid-development (FastTrack)
technology and design projects among managers of Scripps
newspaper-based Web sites, corporate Information Technology
developers and user interface specialists. In this role, the PM1
will:

• Define feature/function requirements and set priorities for each
project.

• Maintain the rapid-development schedule, setting comparative
priorities for multiple, concurrent small- to medium-scale projects.

• Ensure on-schedule development and on-budget deployment of
projects.

• Troubleshoot currently deployed site software and user
interfaces.

• Seek economies of scale in rapid development, combining similar
functionality requests into multisite deployments.

• Keep site teams and corporate staff informed of project status
and resource/schedule conflicts, including recommendations for
resolving conflicts.
Rapid-development projects typically range from tasks that can be
completed by one person in less than one day to tasks that may
involve small teams for several work days. Types of projects may
include: new or upgraded form-based Web applications with database
interactions; new content sections; new advertising delivery methods;
and integrations of vendors’ user interfaces with Scripps site
designs.

The PM1 will also assist the Operations Manager in coordinating and
scheduling medium- to large-scale capital technology developments.
These projects may include: Internet content management, personalized
services for registered site members, content syndication and
