‘Lost’ coming to an end sometime soon
Cory Bergman January 14th, 2007
ABC is discussing with Lost producers how and when to end the TV series, said Stephen McPherson, the president of ABC Entertainment. The show is in its third season, and one of its executive producers says he expects it to end after the fifth season. “We’re no longer going up the hill,” said Damon Lindelof. “We’re starting to come down now.” Meanwhile, McPherson said the network is going to tackle fewer new serials now after the poor performance of Daybreak, The Nine and Six Degrees this last fall season.

Please do not end this great show. It is so refreshing to watch something on TV besides cop shows and shows dealing with drugs and killing. This show is a refreshing and interesting show and we, the American people, have fallen in love with the characters, all of them. So please do not end this show.

This is why the British version of the office is so good. Less is more.

…and with a beginning, middle and end, the DVD sales are money in the bank.

As much as I’d like to see it go on forever, if it does, you know it’ll get lame very likely after 5 seasons.

It would be groundbreaking if they ended the show. Too many shows live on forever, and the viewers know certain things will never get resolved. A series with a finite run is long overdue. Darrien is right - the Brits do this. Why can’t a show have a story arc and then finish?
Lost, well, lost me some time ago. I figured “well, this is Gilligan’s Island meets Twin Peaks. I’m never gonna get stuff resolved, only more confused.” They may earn me back if I knew an ending was in sight.
Might not be a bad idea for Battlestar Galactica, too. Much as I love it - it would be in keeping with the show’s game-changing approach to finish it with finding Earth.

Ever watch all the M*A*S*H episodes and take mental notes on the story lines?
Radar: operations for tonsils and being shelled.
BJ: operations for wrist, could lose entire hand.
Hot Lips: operation on rabbit to see if Hot Lips is pregnant and appendix
Hawkeye: eyes get blasted by backfire of in tent heater
Radar’s animals: cow which is pregnant
Sophie: the Colonel’s horse, procedure for colic
Klinger: broken nose was set
There’s more, but you get the drift.
