Apple TV selling faster than iPods
Cory Bergman January 18th, 2007
Despite the fact the product isn’t even out yet, Apple says its upcoming PC-to-TV device is the fastest-selling item on its website, even beating out iPods. Apple TV is poised to become a surprise hit, says analyst Shaw Wu of American Technology Research. “If Apple were to convert 1 percent of those iPod owners to Apple TV owners, it would be a success. That would be a million units,” he said. I’m also bullish on Apple TV — I’ve already bought one, too. It’s due out in February.

Adds Thomas in comments below, “I already do the same thing, pretty much with my Xbox 360 & Tversity, so I’ll save the $300.”

Full disclosure: I’m an Apple fanboy. But I can hook up my MacBook Pro to my TV and get pretty much the experience Apple TV gives me. I like the cool interface and all, but I just can’t justify $300 for what, to me, amounts to a wireless connection between by MacBook and my TV.

Full Disclosure: I’m not an Apple fanboy. So, no 1080p only a 40Gb hard drive and a super under clocked cpu? Sounds dreamy to me, oh wait, I already do the same thing, pretty much with my Xbox 360 & Tversity so i’ll save the $300 + $1.99 to enable 802.11n and buy another Terabyte for my pc at home. I will admit it would be nice having something like this with NAS copability, but I dont see that coming anytime soon.

I’m with Thomas. My Xbox 360 already does this.
